done that myself squatting - not sure what it was, pain went away after 10 days. regular ice, ibuprofen now

Almost certain it is strain of the ligament(s) of the sternoclavicular joint. The discomfort is dead central and allowing a weight to hang forward in either arm I get pain through the collar bone on that side.

Not bad enough for a tear most likely just strain. It was my first time in wraps today for some time and the sudden 'stop' in the hole caused my upper back to dump forwards a bit, you can actually hear the pop quite loud on video.

Fingers crossed, will see what the morning brings, qualifiers may be a very conservative effort at this rate

GPC Northerns July 2nd.

To be fair it's my first comp and my primary concern is qualifying for British in October which is 660 total for me.

My plan would then be to go balls out at British and total early to mid 700's

Fingers crossed a few days of brufen and taking it easy will suffice!

My Degree in Internet self diagnosis tells me it is likely the Interclavicular ligament which I have done gone f**ked.

The yellow one..

It's a good job I'm lifting in GPC given all the Ibuprofen I now require

just get 660kg to qualify. you've then got 4 months to brits.
i'd advise rest and recovery over any further training that exacerbates it tbh, bench and pull as normal (assuming no problems from them)

for my first comp i did something to my hip and took a token squat of 180
but scraped the then 'A' standard off my other two lifts. your push pull total is good enough
that in worst case scenario you can squat something similar.

Thankyou Wayne.

Today I spent 2 hours at the doctors in the waiting room for the 'open surgery' It was filled with spongers and breeders and young mums discussing what they were going to name their 5th child whilst the other feral 'children' ran about pissing off the genuinely unwell.

Took me under 3 minutes in the doctors office, he complimented my knowledge and confirmed my self diagnosis, he also enjoyed my correct pronunciation of the word 'Lansoprazole' which i had requested as the Ibuprofen is starting to rape my stomach lining.

After that I ate a big tasty with bacon and went to the gym for four hours during which I did lots of stretching, with bands, kettlebells, trx etc and also did around 200 reps for 60kg deadlift which was completely pain free and delivered a nice stretch also. I will be returning to do the same over the next few days as I am not at work and been the resident gym bum is far better than laying in bed at home playing with my tampon.

Currently airfrying myself some steak, chicken and onion rings - boom.

I spent much of yesterday doing more stretching, rolling, light lifting and noticed a vast improvement over the day before.

I woke today with no pain, just a bit of residual tightness in the neck. Decided to try a bit of bench to test the waters and ended up hitting 160 paused and 170 touch and go which is a new weight for me, felt easy as well, f**k sake, absolutely loal, it appears I have the healing properties of wolverine.

Deadlifts

Trained with lads at Boroughbridge tonight,

Eased in gently, testing the waters, no pain at all just obvious tightness in the neck radiating into traps.

Kept reps deliberately smooth, no roll, no sudden dip just nice enough to get me warm, can't remember exact reps, something like:

60 x few
100 x 3
130 x 3
150 x 1
170 x 2
190 x 1
210 x 2
230 x 1
250 x 1
260 x 1
270 x 3 - Rep PB, Top set - so fast, had another 2-3 in me easy but coach didn't want me going over 3, should have gone in heavier!

Satisfied with that all things considered. Will upload a video when it's sent to me.
