A real fast ascent is to be performed during the lightest squats. (2x135kg + 5x80kg + 2x125kg)x5 bb lying triceps extension 25kgx8x5 I just hate this stuff! paused back extension 5x5 Volume is definitely going up sky rocket, while intensity has been cut off a little, which makes sense. I can notice some new exercices coming up. I hope this kind of ground training wont last too long though. cheers | ||

The run is much shorter than from the floor, you cant get as much speed as you'd like to. Therefore the 'drop under' has to be pretty fast, even faster than that if you dont dip completly like in a powerclean. | ||

I just dont know why my form suffer with heavier weights. It's straight back or nothing. My back doesnt round, it's just not as straight as it is usually. I'm thinking, back extensions, regular deadlift, wider my grip (i'm short,5ft5)... | ||

Coach C asked me a couple of weeks ago if i was ok with going down to the pen and do a demo. Some Johnny Cash lifting! Training was a bit different as it was outside in the yard with prisoners at their windows, 20 of them where in the yard trying to learn the olympic lifts. Snatch, up to 70kg for doubles c&j up to 100kgx1 fronties up to 110kgx3x2 back squat up to 150kgx1 It was quite alright, lads were ok, no insult, no fight, no problem whatsoever. You cant talk the lads into having a proper warm up though, i'm not talking about stretching which is totally gay. Some odd 70kg bb curls were to be done/tried. Put a 150kg bb in a squat rack and they all want to have a try at it. I got scared at one time when i saw this 50kg geezer trying to squat 100k, descent was fast as hell and i thought his back would pop out or something. Bench pressing was more their stuff although i was surprised when they told me all they have are smith machines and assisted bench press. 120kg in a smith, they were struggling at 80kg. Good stuff overall, i only saw the brightest side of the coin, but they seem like a bunch of good lads to me. | ||
