Hey dude,
Im heading down early morning of the Comp and then head back up the road after.. there are 3 of us heading down so should be ok Im around 109kg at the mo so spin bike every day this week ha ha thats what I hate about U105's

Benvie its good to be back training but as you say the events will not be good for the back and the yoke is a killer as im guessing some lads will be up around 400kg!

Davy you are right i need to have a goal when it comes to training so this natural comp and events look good for me I hope

Cheers John Its a bit of both mate more happy than sad done 10yrs now body is getting older now and taken a toll over the yrs carrying weight and running about trying to keep up with the young lads!
plus I only get home 8 days a month you know what its like yourself being away alot! So its a new start as I now have a 5 month boy that I need to spend more time with and gives me more focus on trying to become a strongman Grin

Happy with how the training is going right now and considering im 11 weeks post Op im feeling as strong as I was before however DL is still lacking and only just starting back Squating this week ,
Event training is going well at the new gym and thinking to do my first U105s this yr at Britain's Natural Strongman 2013 Northern Qualifier next month in county durham be a good road trip and see if hunter wants to do opens as a warm up before SSM Final Grin

Couple of changes made there will be only 1 DB press in the OH medley.
weight 54kg on the loadable thick DB however there will be 2 logs 1x 80kg the other 1x 100kg
The other change is no fingal finger as need lorry with hiab to get it up to the gym and dont have time as im away for 5 weeks as of the 20th so there will be a 250kg Yoke run instead for 15m

Ideal First Timers Comp
Events
1,Dead Lift for reps Weight - 200kg 60 sec time limit head to head
no suits , straps allowed

... 2,Press Medley 80kg Log onto 54kg Loadable DB onto Tyre axle 80kg
lastly 100kg Log all 1 rep 70 sec time limit

3,Farmers walk 110kg each hand 20m onto 250kg Yoke 15m

4,Tyre flip, weight 300kg 6 flips 70 sec time limit

5,Loading Medley 80kg 100kg 120kg kegs all 5m run in onto platform then onto 100kg sack 5 m run in
finaly 120kg sack no run in . All items to be loaded onto platform

6,Last Event Duck walk 160kg 15m onto arm over arm 15m pulling dog sled lying with feet against board weight TBC

Change to the Duck walk...
It will now be 160kg from having a run out at the weekend it will be a better weight and everyone should be able to complete it plus the 10m has a small incline! Grin then onto arm over arm weight will be around 250kg
