training with the misses good or bad idea?

Take her with you and train more often - she'll soon lose interest and rather sit at home, then blame you when she's gained any weight.

On a serious note - if you're bored and have lots of free time, I would train her separately. If you're pressed for time, then you might have to train WITH her.

no probs training with your mrs mate.

i got my fiancee working out with weights when i met her 6 years ago. i taught her how to train in the gym. she then qualified as a trainer/class instructor.

she appreciates my training now and probably works out more than i do. she loves strength training and rows for a club so it only helps our relationship. i've trained with her plenty of times in the past with no issues.

i'd train with her instead. save you going the gym all the time. or if she's inexperienced, a bit of both to start with. i'm sure it'll be fine.

we gave it a go and she didn't really like it. not so much the lifting, but more the 'people watching' apparently. there weren't any but whatever.

She Sounds like she's competitive enough to stick with it, my missus goes to a posh gym seperatly and says things like weight loss and tone up.Eek

A good idea in theory but when milsy is benching 220+ in a shirt he's probably going to want someone other than his gf there as well

No! gym time is my time. Have done the odd session but i feed off the peoples energy around me and aggression. Training with a girl theirs little energy since she cant be f*cked and zero aggression -too much estrogen Happy

This is true. I lift my best at the gym when VG is there and at events with Ursus and VG.

we have decided to go down the route of me coaching her on a saterday morning when I dont train and her training one week night with another girl we train with whos a powerlifiter and her grandad coaches her so I can do my light assistance stuff on that night

she said she doesnt want to be in the gym when im lifting heavy because she doesnt like seeing me being angry and aggressive lol

Funny enough just started bringing my girlfriend to the gym with me. Seems to be going well although it can be frustrating trying to teach form on excercises, women can get very stroppy when being told what to do so be tactful in your approach!

I had this last night. She informed me that she didnt want to lift heavy stuff because she will gain too much muscle (while she is on a diet).

Needless to say Ive given up
