Hasn't always been a bench press specialist Member 44, 1907 posts SQ 252.5, BP 220, DL 210682.5 kgs @ 83kgs Eq | Rob said: Got some bad news, found out yesterday (sports massage) that I have a couple of muscle tears off my pelvic bone by the hip... which would explain why I keep pulling my glute and some other strange pains I've been getting. Doing some research it looks like I've got pelvic instability. Slept on whether or not to lift tomorrow and decided not to, a heavy deadlift is the last thing I should be doing right now, I need to let my body rest and heal otherwise I'm going to be chasing this injury for months. Booked in with physio Thursday week so won't do any lower body stuff until hes seen it, apart from some stuff for the pelvic instability. have you ever had your gait analysed? if you have problems with your feet it could cause problems in other areas? just a suggestion

Does f*ck all for SugdenBarbell.co.uk Member 1, 7174 posts SQ 182.5, BP 110, DL 205497.5 kgs @ 107kgs UnEq Administrator | Hayden, Alexio (where were you tonight?) - Cheers lads, one more week of 8s on this Ed Coan routine then its down to 5s. Titch - I sometimes wonder if taking a big block off training like that would do me some good, but I think most of my injuries have been down to weaknesses or postural problems so I'm not sure it would be the best option. I guess when you are training at a club with other people and so involved with stuff (through running the site) the idea of taking such a long time out just seems alien to me anyway. I will keep up the pressing and do what I can to hopefully help rehab the injury until the physio has seen it and I know a bit more. Aaron - Indeed that could be something mate, there's definitely some sort of leg imbalance going on I reckon. Will see what the physio reckons next week!

That may seem harse put what's making an OHP walk an extra 100m to the supermarket compared to your squat?!?!

still a devious weightlifting bastard Member 43, 14379 posts | aaron_lohan said: have you ever had your gait analysed? if you have problems with your feet it could cause problems in other areas? just a suggestion I have, but in fairness I built them both myself. Well, I built one and the other (a wrought iron jobbie) I bought from Wickes, although I did hang it myself. The other I made from an old futon that we didnt need anymore, but it does look pretty good. & dont get me started on feet. I have problems with mine and it does affect other areas. Shal thinks I have trenchfoot or something and is always going on at me to see the quack. They dont hurt or itch or anything, but at the end of the day they do f**king stink. I'll look into it. Incline I+T Raise 1.25 x 8+8 x 5 Spent most of the session with Joe who is finishing up prep for British squats next weekend, he spent about half an hour trying to get into his 67.5kg lifters suit - which involved me looping a squat bar through his suit and then him hanging off it. Equipped lifting, you do all the work getting the stuff on Had a bit of a depressing thought as I locked up, wondering when I would be doing the same and leaving the gym feeling buzzing like my 400 squat last year. Training morale is definitely low at the minute, but this game is ups and downs and I am determined to get over this injury and set new PBs again. The mind is willing but the body is weak! On the injury front, general pain from the glute and random achey pain in the lower back is pretty much all gone. Getting a few shooting pains randomly in the day, mostly on hip internal rotation I think, back of hip and bottom of lower back on LHS are locking up a bit, usually in the gym a few times. Just got to get on with my exercises for now, they will take at least a few weeks to make a difference. Physio on Thursday for a more definite diagnosis, although I'm sure it's along the lines of 'hip/pelvis f**ked'!!
