Its a shame mate.

I can't bring myslef to fully endorse your move to the gay sport of cricket but I don't wish you any harm.

Does the journal have to close, could it not just include your cricket focused training?

Indeed we will Jon, some great sessions that will never be forgotten.

Cheers H, I will see you soon, I need that copy of the encyclopedia back - you must have had enough s**ts to read through it all by now?

Thanks Tony, it's time for a fresh start and to put this one to bed - I might start a new one at some point in the future but it's going to be starting very light (sometime next week hopefully) so there won't be much to see for a while! Might still crack out the camera if I go for PBs or need some advice!

Cricket is the way forward! Season starts in a couple of weeks, looking forward to spoiling some people's bowling averages Grin

I have no intention of standing on a snowy pitch in the middle of April Millsy Wink Will be looking to play sometime in Summer hopefully, need to build up slowly if I want to bowl properly.

Carl, I was opening the bowling (and doing a good job) for a second team in an ECB Premier League, which wasn't too bad for a 20 year old. Don't get me wrong I was never going to play county cricket, but I could have been a solid league player I reckon. I was #10 in the second division that year - Mr. Maiden Wink

Rob I hope the change of direction won't effect your enthusiasm for the site.

You've been pivotal in the creation and running of the site and had more than a good hand in arraning the meets.

I hope none of this now suffers.

Agreed. It takes a lot more than lifters to get lifters on a platform. Past differences aside you do a lot of good for a sport that, in all honesty, is terminally ill (in this country anyway). The net has certainly made Adders what it is now, and if it puts more people together in other areas the same thing can happen again.

From a personal point of view, I left the sport for some 8-10 years. Arguably what should/ could of been my best years, but I too felt that I needed to at the time. You've plenty of time for a bit of reinvention should you feel the need. Sometimes taking a step back can be the start of a good foot forward.

Best of luck for the future in whichever way you goWink

f**k man, didnt see this coming!

Good luck though mate. Im probably at the polar opposite of where you are now, but i can relate to where you are mentally. At the end of the day we do this for fun, and if it isnt fun then why bother? I second what the others have said though, you've done a cracking job with the board and the meets, it'd be a shame to see that go.

Good luck with it mate, who knows? in a year or two you might be as good a bowler as meWink

Agree.

I don't really care if you choose never to lift another weight again and have decided to pursue deloads in your local Rainbow Cricket team. This site helps maintain my interest in powerlifting, so just make sure you take time out from throwing a wobbly or googly or whatever it's called and keep this place dedicated to lifting.Wink

Can we have a cricket sub-section in the forum Rob?
