nice vids. Anyone know who the taller lifter at 2 minutes 30 secs is (blue suit, red t-shirt, very wide stance)?

Nothing like a good slap in the face to get you going. Problem is when you do it I have to clench my jaw ready for the impact.. I will get you back next time I have a chance to help you Wink

It was a kiddie called Glen Wilson who copped it. Glen is a nice fella and a handy powerlifter too, with a 250kgs bench to his name.

All he had from the excitement was a big bruise on the top of his thigh. Very lucky considering.

Preston boy Martin Brown took the 100kgs class with a fantastic 8 from 9, going something like 380/250/320 for his thirds. It is only Martin's second full season powerlifting and he is already British champion at a very comptetitive weight class. The sky is the limit for this fella.

Thanks mate - yeah its still scary looking back 16 months and I'd never competed before and was training my guts out to hit a 765 total to qualify.

I finished with 380/240/325 (945) but was confident I could have pulled over 330. The 250 third bench attempt nearly stapled me to the bench - don't know what went wrong on that one! Was a really well run day and brings the best out in me.

Next stop over 1000kg total then I'm moving up a class (or two)....

Here's my video for anyone interested -
