Thanks Bill.
Friday 31st January.
Just 5 lifters at the Farm tonight, me and Forklift basically did nothing other than tidy up the cupboard and straighten up the notice board! Poorly Pete & Roxanne were deadlifting whilst Stewart had a full 3 lift session 210/140/240!
I weighed in at 111.85Kg, Forklift was bang on 93 and Stewart was 103.7.
Did lots of stretching and rolling around on them foam things.
Next stop Letchworth.

Best of luck to you and all others. Will see what Phil is doing. May pop in to watch. If you do see me, don't hesitate to get me spotting/loading.

Nice to see your getting into foam rolling now Ian, after all the criticism I got. Have you found its been beneficial to any of your pains in particular through the shoulders because of loosening up your back?

Sunday 2nd Feb.

East Midlands Classic - Letchworth.
Around 85 GBPF lifters had tried to enter todays competition but time constraits meant that only the first 47 lifters were accepted, that means 38 lifters never got to don the lycra today! It looks like the GBPF is starting to get somewhere at last. Other than the usual pre competition problems, psycho semantic aches and pains, worries about warming up in time etc, etc, etc, everything suggested that today would probably go to plan. Weighed in at 110.40Kg, so much for bulking up.

Squat.
Warmed up with: 10x20, 5x70, 3x110, 2x130, 1x150, 1x160, 1x170.
Platform.
175 - 3 whites.
185 - 3 whites.
190 - 2 whites, never found out what the solitary red was for.
As expected, 190 was on the limit, 192.5 would not have gone.

Bench.
Warmed up with: 20x20, 5x60, 3x80, 1x100. All paused.
Platform.
105 - 3 whites.
112.5 - 3 whites.
117.5 - 3 whites.
Not much of a warm up but the benching went better than expected, I'd only planned on going up to 115 but they all felt very comfortable and the referees pauses were not over long - Happy, all things considered.

Deadlift.
Warmed up with: 5x70, 3x110, 2x130, 1x150, 1x170, 1x190.
Platform.
205 - 3 whites.
215 - 3 whites.
225 - 3 whites.
Satisfied, i'd not attempted anything over 220 for a long, long time but the Finch formula suggested that a 225 was likely so I went for it. Good call, 227.5 was not there.

532.5 total and 9 from 9, just the solitary red light. Satisfied with where I am 6 weeks out from the British Masters where i'll be looking for a 550 total PB.

All the Farms lifters did well today, i'm proud of each and every one of them.
Especially chuffed for Horny winning his first competition, even Tony Cliff dropped down a weight class to avoid him!Wink Wink Wink

Excellent lifting. Couldn't have asked for much more from today's lifting

Thanks Bill.

When I was lifting yesterday I was that focussed that it did not register with me who the referees were, so I never found out which referee had given me the red light or what it was for.

However, Bonecrusher Frank was kind enough to post my first squat on youtube last night. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SSJ08MywUZw&feature=youtu.b...
As you'd expect from an opening squat it was comfortable, controlled and deep. Of more interest however is the identity of the rogue red light referee!

RED LIGHT (Formerly Poorly) PETE!
At least i'll find out tonight why he hit the red button.Eek Eek Eek

Good job, Ian.

I saw the solitary red light and thought it would be Red Light Pete.

550 PB total would be great.
