Friday 21st May.

Twelve lifters at the Farm, i've never seen it so busy!
Weighed in at 118.95Kg.
Still keeping everything light.

Deadlifts.
2 x 5 x 60
4 x 80
3 x 100
2 x 120
1 x 140
1 x 160
2 x 130
3 x 120.
No issues but the 160 was close to the current limit.

Bench.
10 x 20
8 x 60
4 x 80
2 x 90
1 x 100
2 x 90
3 x 5 x 70 Close grip.
More comfortable than i was expecting.

Back to squats on Monday.

Target for the rest of 2021 is to get closer to a 500 total again.
No competitions planned, however i might just have a run out at the EM Masters in August if injury free.

Strangely, despite being in no condition to lift i've got the qualifying total for this years British from my last competition back in August 2019. However if i want to lift in the 2022 nationals i'll need to hit a 447.5 total this year, so my loose plan is to do the EM Masters this August and exceed 447.5!

That seems a bold move Ian. The Masters is less than 9 weeks away, AND the EM classic 5 weeks after that. That's a tough schedule for someone with only a weeks training in the past 5 months.

My plan ATM is to train till the last week of August, take 2-3 weeks off, and then decide if I want to compete in WM divisionals in late November/early December

I'm not doing the British Masters this year Bill, i'm aiming for next year!

Not sure why the 2nd 105 failed, probably not enough rest between lifts.

Friday 4th June.

Six lifters at the Farm, quiet for a Friday.
Weighed in at 120.9kg, diet still not going to plan!
Somehow the college "forgot" to open the doors today we we all stood outside for 30 minutes whilst a man with keys was hunted down. Consequently the session was all a little rushed.

Deadlifts.

No problems, still taking them steady, no point in following a plan until i'm back to something resembling a powerlifter.

Bench.

No problems, all comfortable.

Wednesday 9th June.

13 lifters at the Farm, that must be some kind of record for a Wednesday.
Weighed in at 120.20kg. Not good!

This was a bad day, stiflingly warm and muggy, very sweaty palms not helping, plus the incompetent people running the college forgot to open the doors again, thats' twice in the last three sessions we've been locked out for over 30 minutes.

Deadlifts.

1 x 175 came up okay but could feel the bar slipping.
1 x 185 came up okay but bar slipped out of my sweaty palms just after lockout.

Not happy.

No problems.

its a hard road back when you haven't trained for a long period , it must be difficult trying to lose weight and train at the same time . i found training on reduced calories miserable!
