Push press
20kg x 8, 40kg x 5, 60kg x 3, 70kg x 3, 80kg x 2, 90kg x 1, 100kg x 2 crap. Workout abandoned with everything hurting. No leg drive/timing, just muscling them up and leaving them 'out in front'. Pissed off as I should be playing with this weight.

Band dislocates

Yeah, my upper back/traps/neck are FUBAR'd.

Couple more sessions this week (nothing too strenuous) then rest up for Sat.

I'll be doing:

power cleans with some sort of press
15 inch deads/normal deads
1 arm DB press

Then I'll do some farmers after when I get home. Second thoughts I'll do them before I go otherwise they won't get done.

Power cleans
60kg x 3, 70kg x 2, 80kg x 1, 90kg x 1, 97.5kg x 1, 105kg x 6

Front squats
60kg x 3, 70kg x 3, 80kg x 3, 90kg x 3, 100kg x 3, 110kg x 3, 120kg x 2

Still feeling pretty beat up from Saturday, elbow hurting, upper back/next/traps stiff as a board. So was quite please to get 6 reps with 105kg on the power cleans.

Front squats were done with a clean grip! Woohoo! First time, now and forever. Would have got 3 with 120kg but my pants split on the second and it put me off. Still weak as though, but with my new, sexy clean grip I'll be sticking with these for a good while now. It's time to put Joni back in his place on these (2nd!) and get working towards 400lbs.

Any technique pointers greatly appreciated. I'm thinking

  • Dip more to catch the weight
  • Elbows through quicker (which may be related to the point above?)

Thats more like it!

remember that unit 20 bar is not thick, its thin as boar and rob on diet, that bas***d should fly nicely!

But on front squats, you have to put your skates on man, i want that 400lbs still this year Cool

I don't think cleaning it will be a problem. Pressing it though Unhappy

400lbs this year, not a chance for me. 160kg would be nice though and work on the 400 next year!

Strong stuff Millsy, only things I would say is shoulders further over the bar, flat back and head up - they should help the last part of it easier. You deadlift with nice form so no need to power clean with a Jackson curve Wink

Rob I'll try to get rid of the Jackson curve in the future. I was deliberately not getting my butt low down as I was trying to keep my shoulders infront of the bar, but I need to get it lower than that and try not to round my upper back (even though it is pretty much like that all the time!). Cheers

Power cleans weren't bad Millsy lad. Rob was about right in his comment, try to get set tighter before you start. Arse down a bit more, back flat and tight, shoulders over. A decent starting position will pay dividends for sure

Thanks for the pic Jonny - you're turning into a bit of an all-rounder yourself too!

Well what a great day! Started off with an awesome exhibition where Andy did excellently getting a new PB of 177.5kg, Jeff nailed 155 and nearly got 160 on the c&j. Big Ste clean and strict press 137.5kg and a 500lb raw bench and fatpete did a very comfortable 700lb squat. Awesome! Then it was on to the mortals whilst those lot pissed off to the pub!

Was great to see everyone going at it getting PB's all over the place. Joni nailing his dead and push press pb's, Hayden with his bench and dead pb's, Rob with his new BW bench and all-time dead pb's, Jonny with his new BW dead, bench and clean and press pb's, Paul with his bench pb. Well done to all!

Personally I really wasn't expecting very much at all and had one of the workouts of my life! I quite enjoyed the lemon fress activities and hope to make it down to Adders fairly regularly to participate in lemon fresh activities. Just a 1 minute chat with Andy and Jeff added 20kg to my overhead instantly - thanks guys!

Powercleans
60kg x 3, 70kg x 2, 80kg x 1, 90kg x 1, 100kg x 1, 110kg x 1, 120kg x 1 PB, 125kg x 1 PB, 130kg x 1 PB! Really enjoyed these, was great to use Jeff's new bar, a true thing of beauty!

50kg x 3, 70kg x 3, 85kg x 1, 100kg x 1, 110kg x 1, 115kg x 1, 120kg x 1, 125kg x 1 PB!



Power snatches
50kg x 2, 60kg x 2, 70kg x 1, 80kg x 1, 85kg x 1, 90kg x x
First time doing these, enjoyed them. The 85 isn't really counted as it was slightly pressed out but I'm sure i'll get it properly soon enough



Really pleased with the session. Hope to learn to do full cleans soon and keep up the work on the power jerks, 300lbs overhead from the floor is high on the wish list after today!
