Fin. Squats were quite tiring volume-wise, but weight-wise not a problem. Hamstrings felt tight though, and I will be spending the evening reading physiology lecture slides whilst stretching them out.

After 2 days of smolov I feel no DOMS or leg pain at all, but I feel tired as hell...

Instead of doing Mon Wed Fri Sat I'm gonna shift the last day (sat) to the mon, and the next week will start on the Wed, so it will be a 9 day cycle. The Sat session will be events then and a maybe bit o deadlifting. See if I can take it; adapt or die is my motto for this year so it's not gonna be fun i reckon...Grin

EDIT: Following severe skintness I've had less than 10 cigarettes all week, so from this weekend I'm gonna finally kick that habit and get some conditioning work in as well. I am ready for it now! No longer will I be a smoker. I'm determined. Putting this in public to make myself go thru with it now and stop being a pussy about it.

Fri 3rd June

Squats

5 x bar
5 x 70kg
5 x 120kg
7 x 5 x 144kg

SLDL

5 x 70kg
5 x 120kg
5 x 150kg
5 x 170kg (grip slipped at 3 reps due to no chalk in this hot sweaty weather so straps for last 2
2 x 180kg - f**ked by this point in lower back, unsurprisingly!

Wide Grip (Overhand) Chins

8, 3 x 5 @ bw

Squats weren't too taxing today, getting used to it now. Deadlifts were killers though afterwards! Events in morning with Ben, deadlifted instead of pressing today so I can practice log and fatty dumbbell tomorrow Happy

Strict Press

First time doing problem free strict press since injury - looks like I'm on the home straight now finally with this one!

Coming along well.

You didn't miss too much at Results- just a bit of a mess around really, ended up there at 9ish- I suspected you may have been snoozing at that time Grin. Your legs will be like jelly for the next few weeks anyway!
Avatardoc77
Strangely enough Ben my legs are ok it's my back which is suffering - this is the weakness showing itself! At least I know what area to hammer now though!
MrSmall
Not really mate the "legs" are MUCH larger muscles and recover MUCH quicker, than anything else in your body so its obviously your back that will suffer.

Awesome SLDL mate. Stupid question: you find these work your lower back more than good mornings? I've only just switched from GMs to SLDL and was wondering how you found them.
