YEah I hear ya there I'm a skint student as well Grin As for Results, I didn't know what it was like before the new equipment, I just pay a fiver to the amazon woman every week and do yoke, farmers etc outside, but its a good hardcore type gym with some nice toys...I must have seen you at ASV, I'm there nearly every day usually with a strongman T-shirt and scruffy jogging bottoms on in the power racks somewhere, either lifting weights or perving at the women Grin I'm going there at about 5.30pm today, so if you are there, give me a shout!

Was meant to have a rest today, but felt OK to lift. Finally seem to be seeing the back end of this tricep/shoulder problem, still cant strict overhead much but push press is less affected now. 110kg felt heavy but that is due to being about 8 weeks since attempting it. Should be good to go for scots u90s Happy

Next time I'm there I'll give you a shout. I've got exams at the moment so it'll probably be next week sometime. I always wear either grey or black trackies and usually wear either a red or back polo-shirt. I always wear my Ironwork IIIs and usually hang about the power racks. Be good to get some sessions together as I'm interested in strongman and powerlifting too.

The few times I was at Results I was there by myself so I missed out on the atmosphere. I'd definitely join there once I graduate next year though.

120kg felt heavy as, lower back was giving up as well so binned them off.

5 x 180kg + machine (which weighs a fair bit to be honest)

That was all for tonight, felt tired as hell once I started and it was a poor session all in all, just getting some work in really.

Nice day today, felt real stiff in hips so concentrated on pausing and stretching at the bottom of each squat, touching ass to ankles fro a couple of seconds. First time I've been able to stretch enough to do flyes since I did myself a mischief last time out, seems to be healing now fully, hopefully just in time for Scottish u90s, but maybe a week too late. One more event session and plenty of light work and rehab thru the week and I will see on the day if I get a 120 floor to overhead PB then its healed, and I can start working it again Grin

Glutes were fist thing to tire, so did:

19" Deadlifts (just above knee)

10 x 220kg
8 x 230kg
5.8 x 250kg - just failed to lock hips thru at the end of the 6th pull...all of these are big rep PBs though, due to never doing these to failure before!

Then had a slice of good luck. Was unloading the bar to go home, carrying and stacking plates on the back of the power rack, inside which there was a guy squatting (high lol). I didn't pay much attention to him as I was f**ked from my last set, but he was also unloading the bar. He took all the weights off one side first and the bar came crashing down where I would have been had I not dropped a 20kg plate 0.5 seconds before the bar and about 80kg hit the deck...so I'm gonna do euromillions tomorrow Grin

I got asked last time I was in if I would get some and also not dump squats off backwards due to some people also doing it...I wonder how many will try and copy Scott doing no handed squats though? Grin

EDIT: Nice squats tonight mate! 200 for 5 and the last didn't look any harder than the first! :O

I'm doing Results tomorrow mate, then off training til maybe Tuesday as comp is on Sunday! I might be about doing some light overhead work on thursday afternoon but i dunno yet, I have exams on thursday and friday so I'm just resting and studying at the moment.

Events at Results with Ben

Axle OH Press

Need to do more rehab yet, sore and tight still but after a good warm up strength is somewhere thereabouts...

Yoke

210kg - literally ran with these for 12m ish, dropped, turned round and came back., 3 runs Easy weight.
3 x 12m x 270kg - a few drops with these on every run, felt tired all thru my back when I upped the weight but felt ok when I got the yoke in the right place. Fresh this will be OK I think now.

Rest now til Sunday, and I'm aiming for a day full of PBs Grin

Scottish u90kg

1. Maxle (rising bar)


80kg, 90kg, 100kg comfy, failed at lockout on 105 but wasn't expecting much due to still not fully recovered tricep/shoulder thing I have

2. Deadlift 220kg for reps

1 rep, couldn't get 2nd one moving off the floor. Only pulled this as a PB the other week so have to be happy with it.

3. Farmers Hold 135kg

about 4 seconds. Left hand grip is s**t, i need to start knocking one out with my alien hand now and again Grin Right hand was still good for longer though which was a bit of a shame as I wanted at least 20 seconds really on this. Intended to hook grip but forgot!

4. 270kg Yoke, 180kg duck walk

Finished yoke (PB Grin ) three drops I think, duck walk I was so bad I think I went backwards at one point lol

5. Squat

160kg - easy
170kg - easy
180kg - battled but couldn't quite get it going again once it stalled.

6. 53kg evil circus dumbbell - No reps. Too gassed and tired by this point.

Good comp, went lightening quick and hardly any rest or warm ups for anything, happy with performance, need more conditioning and bad handed wanking :P but strength is coming on as is moving events (it really does work this training events, doesn't it Grin ) Well done to everyone, great bunch at the unit and once again a well run comp by the Strength Shop Crew. Can't mention names as a) I will miss someone out and b) I don't know everyones names who were involved Grin Cheers guys and gals!!!
