Apparently I was looking down rather than straight ahead as well, so if I can keep this in mind and do some one leg stuff I reckon I will get 10m next time. If I get used to 100kg farmers then 90kg should be easier (maybe not at the end of a medley, however...) | ||

Mon 17th Aug Plan was to get some deadlifting done today, but the 2 holes in my hand said 'no'. Clean and Push Press 5x bar 5x40kg 5x60kg 3x70kg 3x80kg Just failed press on 90kg (had to continental clean it as well, but I got it in position ok) 1x85kg 1x80kg 3x70kg Z press 1x60kg 3x55kg 2x55kg 1x55kg seated press m/c 5x12 plates 3x13 plates failed 14 plates Seated high row m/c 5x40kg each hand 3x5 60kg each hand Hang cleans 5x50kg 5x55kg 3x60kg One arm db snatch 3x40kg failed a couple more attempts so called it a day. Strict press is still s**t, I'm sure I was doing this much last year... Push press was better tonight though, a gnat's cock away from locking the 90kg out! 3 times a week, little bits each time, z presses to try andf get my strict press up. Now for some more of that surgical spirits on my hand... | ||

Also might do some axle deads for the wrist strength. I'm gonna do stones for as long as poss on sunday and see what happens. Damn my girly arms! | ||

Squats (all beltless) 5x70kg 5x100kg 3x120kg 1x130kg 1x140kg (Failed - woulda been a beltless PB as well ) IFSA Log C+P 1 clean 3 press 72kg 1x77kg 1x82kg PB failed 82kg press twice 3 singles 77kg 1 clean 3 press 72kg 1 clean 2 press 72kg x2 Yoke Press (Strict) 4x5 empty yoke Squats again 3x100kg 2x130kg 1x135kg 1x135kg Paused squats 3x3 100kg - too easy, shoulda gone 110 Partial squats from rack stood on a block 10 second hold then a set of 10 partial squats 250kg f**ked after this little lot, log is getting better every session. Bit rusty on squats, so went a bit conservatively tonight with the paused squats. Never done heavy partials like that, but felt good for more reps, so I will stand on more plates next time then I'm doing more of the range of motion than just the pickup minus 2". Next session Sunday at Olympic | ||

Went to regular gym today, to do what I could. Sun 23rd Aug OH press from rack 10x bar 10x40kg 5x60kg 1x70kg 1x80kg - felt heavy today so left it there. Seated Press 10x10 plates 5x12 plates 3x13 plates T bar row - never done these so took it easy at first 10x30kg 5x60kg 5x80kg 5x100kg Seated high row m/c 3x5 60kg each hand Close grip bench 10x bar 10x40kg 5x60kg 3x3 80kg DB snatch 5 each hand 15kg DB 3 each hand 35kg DB 3 singles each hand 40kg DB - had to C+P last one though. Short session, feel stiff as hell still, much eating been going on since I got back, and a hot bath. Now off for more eating, followed by match of the day, supper and double helping of sleep | ||

Cracked it after some advice from a guy who was up from a village called London, daaan saaarf somewhere I suppose...but he trains at Genesis Gym, and gave me a few tips. Finally sussed out what to do, kept losing it forwards at first but that was in the setup. Now I need to get my elbows through on the catch, but all in all a big improvement tonight. Still needs a lot of tidying up though. Finished with some db snatches up to 35kgx3 each hand for a few sets. | ||

Are you nailing the heavy set? You're looking damn strong overhead at the moment, even injured! | ||

Stones to 48" 70kg to 60" a few times to warm up 93kg x3 105kg x1 120kg - failed around half a dozen times due to technique - all back and trying to roll it over my knee to lap it and couldn't. I think I was standing too far away from it as well. By the time I had got the gist of it I was too f**ked to lift it high enough... 105kg x1 93kg x1 Will train these with a 93kg stone for reps on Friday to get the right technique. Deadlifts 3x100kg 3x140kg 3x2 160kg 1x170kg (failed beltless so put belt on straight away and nailed it) 1x170kg 1x160kg Log c+p about 8 singles with 72kg log Felt even more tired after this, had some mad, mad stuff to think about this week, always comes up at the wrong time! (Is there ever a right time?) 2 more sessions, HHH Friday and Olympic on Sunday. I have to get these stones sorted technique wise, and get some practice arm over arm before the comp, as I've never done it before. Hopefully I will get 3 out of 4 stones in this comp, I want to get 4 but at the moment it looks like a crackpipe dream. I have got my overhead somewhere near, too late to make much improvement on anything else now though... | ||

Squat 5x bar 5x60kg 3x100kg 2x120kg 1x140kg 1x145kg 1x150kg Partial squats from pins 2x8 w/220kg with 10s hold before reps OH DB snatch 3 each hand 20kg DB 3 each hand 30kg DB 3 each hand 35kg DB 2x1 40kg - had to c+p due to f**kedness of shoulders OH BB C+P 3x60kg 3x70kg 3x80kg failed 85kg twice Bench Rack Lockouts 5x85kg 5x100kg 5x120kg 5x140kg 2x5 130kg Low Pulley Rows 8x10 plates 8x17 plates 8x18 plates Had a real CBA day today, felt tired and drained really, glad of a week off now before next Sunday's comp, which means either I've got it just right or I have overdone it and will not perform. Who khows, but with a week's rest I reckon I will be there or thereabouts standard wise come Sunday. Plan for Olympic Dragons is: Deadlift 180 opener, end up with a PB OH do light set 5 out of 5 tyre/yoke/farmers complete course in reasonable time arm over arm - f**k knows never done it... stones 2 out of 4 quickly, hoefully load number 3 as well If I do this I will be pleased, no problem with bodyweight (85.4kg) so plan is rest, eat, sleep and turn up in time on the day! | ||
