nah Pete, slightly too heavy for me - 95kg log for reps? big fat 0 lol...maybe next year, I want to do as many novice comps as I can, but first I NEED a 180kg raw squat, a bigger deadlift and 100kg overhead, so for now that's my plan!

Deficit Deads (stood on a 25kg plate) for speed

SLDL

3x3 120kg

Chest supported rows

4x5 50kg

Pull ups medium grip

4x5 bw - I am s**t at pull ups Grin

Lat raises

3x10 12kg DBs

Concentration curls

3x8 17.5kg DB

Not done SLDL for ages, but my hammys need strength! Deficits were for speed, didn't move too fast but still explosive enough. Stiffness has subsided after this workout, onward and upward!

I've not trained biceps in over a year,(well, maybe 2 or 3 sets a couple of times) They're now the biggest they've ever been! If your gonna train em do hammer curls IMO, maybe some barbell or DB curls sometimes, but not concentration curls dude! lol

I usually do hammer curls Pete, I was sat in my kitchen after I got home, and ther was a dumbell on the floor, and, well...what can I say really? Have you seen the peak! Grin Roll-Eyes Wink




I have noticed that atlas stones and power cleans have made my arms grow more lately than they ever have...I'm gonna give up smoking next week when I go to uni, so that will help as well I would expect.

Solid goals, not far off the overhead now though? I would be there shouting support from the sidelines, but it's my last weekend at home with my missus and son before I'm off to Aberdeen so I'm tied up (hopefully Grin) this weekend, but I will be rooting for you pal, along with the other guys off here who are competing - Boar I know is doing - good luck lads!

Cheers Dave. I'm at 180 squat, 140 bench, 220ish deads and probably 90 overhead at the moment. Boars out due to injury, Pagans in and another couple off here I think. They will all thrash me! ha ha

Olympic is cool. Loads of stuff, plenty of room and plenty of people who know what they're doing (which in my case is a BIG help!)

I enjoy training with Mark though, each time I go he shows me a really horrible exercise which he says is how he built his strength - so I copy him lol I also enjoy watching them do all the odd lifts, every session they do stuff I've never seen before Grin

Yeah, Mark is a legend. He is one strong mofo! 300kg squat raw and natural, and about 340 deadlift I think. Crazy.
