Summary
I tried deadlifting a couple of week ago, but anything more that 120kgs was hurting my groin, so wasn't sure what to expect. So was pretty pleased to have no pain at all, and only at 200kgs did I feel anything that might be considered as a 'niggle'. Everythign else was fairly straightforward and easy weight wise. The intention of the single leg deadlift is to get some glute activation, as I'm wondering if that is part of my groin problem. we will see if it help, I guess.

That is all

I've always been fond of the Jim Wendler quote "Start too light, progress too slow". Build real longevity and lets you squeeze as much as you can out of each session without burning out.

Well, it's a case of having to, I think. I don't WANT to though, I want to be smashing the weights again!!

Getting there now I think Si, thanks Happy

New year with a new plan. I'm currently a fat 98kgs following a fairly 'fat' Christmas, so need to lose the extra timber first whilst building the weights and confidence back up. Once I'm back down to ~90kgs then I will start focussing back on strength. 2015 for me means I need to be more consistent with training, train smarter; spend less time at work, more sleep, more training, more stretching/mobility and thus less injuries (hopefully)! I have a punchbag now (Xmas pressie), so will be HIITing that hard (fnar fnar) as part of the weight lose plan. Wife is also on the 'get fit not fat' plan, so that should help us both along.

Just been out for our 'Boot camp' style training at lunchtime. Christ, it was hard going. Still, it's the first session for 2-3weeks so can't really expect much else.

40x10
40x10

DB Shoulder Press: 3x10 (60secs rest)
15x10
15x10
15x8

Stretching

Summary
First session of the year. Broke in the new punch bag. It's awesome for releasing that pent up aggression! Rest of the session was uber light, but with minimal rest. Plan is a slow build up focussing on dropping the stone of weight I've put on over the last couple of months, then start building up some strength.

That is all

I think it might be one of the best bits of kit I've ever bought. Great fun, fantastic conditioning, and such a stress reliever!

Good session. Nice to get some reps in deadlifting, was all pretty easy. Will steadily increase weight and continue with 5x5 I think. KB work was harder than I expected. Rows always feel like a difficult move for me.
