Sunday 22nd July 2011 - HIIT Cardio, Abs

No training over the last couple of days as I've been wasted any my ribs are still being unhelpful.

Managed to get the HITT session in today and a little ab work.
I couldn't do the usual barbell sit-ups though, these were causing far too much rib pain - I also sacked of grip training as well Grin

Sled Dragging
  • 4 minutes warm up on cross trainer

  • 25 seconds dragging uphill (flat out) / 35 seconds dragging downhill (walking)
  • 25 seconds dragging uphill (flat out) / 35 seconds dragging downhill (walking)
  • 25 seconds dragging uphill (flat out) / 35 seconds dragging downhill (walking)
  • 20 seconds dragging uphill (flat out) / 40 seconds dragging downhill (walking)
  • 20 seconds dragging uphill (flat out) / 40 seconds dragging downhill (walking)
  • 20 seconds dragging uphill (flat out) / 40 seconds dragging downhill (walking)

  • 4 minutes cool down on cross trainer

      Pah!

  • 20
  • 15
  • 10 to each side
Ab Roll Outs
  • 10
  • 10
  • 10

Monday 23rd July 2012 - Bench / Assistance @ Ralls


Very warm tonight at Ralls and just a few of us training, going to be a sweaty one!

Ribs still bad, so going heavy might be a problem....

Bench Press (1st rep of each set paused)
  • 20kg x 10
  • 60kg x 10
  • 60kg x 10
  • 80kg x 5
  • 100kg x 5
  • 120kg x 1
  • 130kg x 1

  • 140kg x 2
  • 127.5kg x 5

      The 140kg set was supposed to be a triple, but after a decent pause on the first rep, I only just got the double.
      I seem to be losing a little tightness in the last inch or so before touching my chest....

Bench Press (Negatives)
  • 160kg x 1
  • 160kg x 1
Close Grip Bench Press (hands about 14" apart)
  • 110kg x 5
  • 110kg x 5
Incline Bench Press
  • 100kg x 5
  • 100kg x 5
Seated Incline Curls
  • 26kg x 6
  • 26kg x 5 + 8 @ 16kg
Pull Ups
  • 15kg x 6
  • 15kg x 6
  • 15kg x 6
Strict Press
  • 60kg x 5
  • 60kg x 5

      Strict pressing was really bothering my rib, so just did some light stuff

Hammer Curls
  • 22kg x 8
  • 22kg x 8
Dips
  • 40kg x 5
  • 40kg x 5
  • bw x 10
Tricep Pressdowns
  • 7 Plates x 10
  • 7 Plates x 10
  • 7 Plates x 10

Must have lost 2kg in sweat tonight Grin

Re the negatives - I've never done them before, but I think they will help me with losing tightness during the last inch of the lowering phase (If I can stay tight lowering 170/180/190kg then 160kg should feel like a piece of piss - I hope anyway Grin )
