this is the belt i have.. cheap and good. it hurts at first but, man up lol


Nothing wrong with something like this either, but I prefer the lever as you dont have to mess about pulling against something to get it tight etc.

If you buy a good belt it will do you for years, good investment imo. Now that your total is coming up you will start to want a bit more support on your max lifts. Regardless of whether it if PL or Strongman you want to get in to a good belt will be a great friend and training partner

Well i have seen without a doubt tonight that a good training partner is a must. I would not have done as well as i did tonight if i had no encouragement, nice 1 mate Wink

Bench day and still tight in the right delt/tri/bi area , so i wasnt sure how it would go...nailed some paracetamol and got into the gym to find out.

SQUAT
1x15 @ bar (to a 14" box , quite hard to get depth with no weight on the bar)
1x10 @ 60kg (far easier to the box)
1x5 @ 90kg (normal squats now)
1x5 @ 120kg
3x5 @ 150kg (toughest working set by far so far , far harder than mondays 147.5s)
1x1 @ 170kg PB(wasn't gonna attempt this , but my training partner played some mind games with me when i said i wasnt gonna try a pb tonight !!)

Bench Press
1x20 @ bar
1x10 @ 60kg
1x5 @ 92.5kg
3x5 @ 112.5kg (first time i ever managed 5 at this weight , and i got all 3 sets , good times)
1x9.5 @ 100kg (felt great at 8 , even 9 wasnt bad but that tight right side doesnt let me fight for a lockout when it fatigues , GHEY !!!! 10 will come soon)

Bent Over Row
1x10 @ 50kg
1x5 @ 90kg
3x5 @ 115kg (got all 15 reps up to chest but form is going so im gonna deload next time out and try and build back up with stricter form)

Incline Situps SS with Preacher Curls
3x20 / 3x10 @ 36kg ( last set of curls was a 12)

Just the 2 of us training tonight so a lot less rest time , really wasnt expecting the bench press to go so well and i had already decided i was not going to attempt a Squat PB but my training partner seems to know how to get the best outta me...bloody slave driver!

3x5 @ 152.5kg (4, 5, 5 : went forward on 5th rep of first set and couldn't save it)


Overhead Press
1x15 @ bar
1x10 @ 40kg
1x5 @ 50kg
1x5 @ 65kg
3x5 @ 75kg (5,4,4 : last set was front press, first two were BTN)

1x3 @ 85kg (Push press)
1x1 @ 92.5kg PB


Floor to Overhead
1x1 @ 60kg
1x1 @ 70kg
1x1 @ 80kg
1x1 @ 85kg
1x1 @ 90kg PB (Had three fails, got this fourth attempt)


Deadlift
1x10 @ 60kg
1x5 @ 100kg
1x3 @ 145kg
1x5 @ 187.5kg
1x1 @ 217.5kg PB (Again this came up fast)
1x1 @ 227.5kg PB (This was with straps)


Really happy with tonights deadlifts, nice to pull 500lbs finally, even if it was with straps. Squats were tough and i doubt i will get another week of progress out of them. Overhead Press is coming along well, tonight is the first time i have got 75kg for 5 and i'm happy with my new pbs in push press and floor to overhead.

not for DOM's , its an old injury that likes to play up , doesnt really prevent me from working except at top end so the painkiller just helped take the edge off so i could work through with it Happy
