I think his model consistency has paid off, as an example in the past 3 to 4 weeks he has hit the following in comp:

Worlds

312.5-230-285 - 827.5kg

Londons @ 85kg

320-240-295 - 855kg

South Mids

320-237.5-300 - 857.5kg

Pound for pound one of the best ever totals by a British lifter - brilliant lifting.

Amazing total. Although I think Dean's 1065 total at 130-140ish bodyweight still gives him the highest Britis wilks.

must be a good feeling to break a world record held for 20 years, added to the fact his total is now going to be freezed

Yes Dean's wilks score is higher - Clive Henry and Tony Steven have also achieved slightly higher wilks

An outstanding performance by an outstanding man.Your series during the last few months of lifting has been awesome.Looking forward to watching you lift in the 83kg class next year.
This weightclass is "something else" in drug tested /drug free ethos lifting at the moment.WELL DONE ROB.Congratulations to the South Midlands organising team (Monica,John,Dean and others on what has been another cracking Divisional Championships).
Regards to everyone,
Paul R.

Thanks for all the comments everyone! Especially from Nick and Paul Rees, Nick got me started lifting a few years ago and Paul put on the first comp I ever lifted in, lifted in a pair of cross trainers, rugby shorts and a sleeveless tshirt (Classy).
It means a lot to me that the two of them still follow my progress.
Was a great comp ran really smoothly, after lifting last week I was still feeling little tired on the squat and it showed when I started shaking and swaying backwards and forwards on the ascent! The bench was rushed in the warmup room so did 120 put the shirt on did a quick 200, then 215 both were rubbish! But on the platform they couldn't have gone better, maybe a few more kgs on the bench next time. Deadlift went well also, just need to sort my baby hands out and I might be able to finish some bigger weights!
All in all I have had a great years lifting and this was the icing on the cake for me, I will be extremely proud to have my name in the record books forever, something to show the kids one day when i'm old and fat!
Looking to next year I have set myself the goal of 901kg total @ 83.
I am lucky to have guys behind me such as Tom Martin and hopefully Macca if he comes over to compete, their great achievements this year are a constant reminder that you must always improve or somebody will come along and take it from you otherwise!
Thanks again
(I will try and make a video but I am simple with computers, it took me 3 goes to log in!)

Yep the 82s have some standout lifters in both tested feds in both 'codes'.

You still have the gbpf unequipped record don't you with 660 right?

f**king hell Rob...just as I thought I was starting to catch up!
Really nice total, well done! And a 300 deadlift too, looks like I won't be able to rely as heavily on my deadlift as I was planning on doing!

Once again, awesome job yesterday!
