Member 4600, 8166 posts SQ 240, BP 162.5, DL 255657.5 kgs @ 90.5kgs UnEq | my site is still open... i went in today to collect tolls...was allowed to spend the day topping off gables on my own so stayed. locked myself down now bur site still open However, silo has -2 max day of muck left and no deliveries as merchants closed up now so...us brickies will be out and the scaffs will have to follow us and so forth... going to cost me a hell of a lot of money but more worried about the impending mother of all recessions... we builders know what that means for us. | ||

Member 4923, 1795 posts | I had the swab test today, have any of you guys been tested? I had a cold/sinus infection last week and the advice was to go and get tested. I had none of the main symptoms so will be very surprised if its positive but we'll know in 48 hours or so. | ||

Here in Ireland you ring your GP if unwell and after a chat on the phone you're advised whether you will be tested or not. They are ramping up the testing cos so many of those who tested positive so far only had mild symptoms. | ||

Interesting Member 6186, 245 posts | France population 65 million, lockdown on 17 March 2020. Spain population 46 million, lockdown on 15 March 2020. Italy population 60 Million, lockdown 9 March 2020. UK population 66 Million, lockdown 23 March 2020. We are supposed to be around 14 days behind Italy, we got a good solid three weeks of lockdown, and then some more I would think. Plus remember the impact of this is yet to hit hard in South American, North American, Africa and Asia are still a long way out of the woods. Europe is the continent at the epicentre at this present time. This a complete right off of 2020 and possibly 2021 for all countries both in terms of economy, standard of living and more importantly mortality. The potential threat of this pathogen for suffering and life loss is catastrophic. It could yet have a second wave, create a mixing vessel and mutate. Plus we could then have a possible third world war just to add to the complete chaos and disorder it will bring. I find it so sad and all avoidable if Global Governments listened to the warnings and not been so complacent. This will make an earthquake or a tsunamis be like a walk in the park. | ||

One academic reckons up to 50% may have contracted this already and it’s far less dangerous than first thought.the entire scientific community are in agreement that asymptomatic carriers, long contagious incubation period means at least one order of magnitude have had it and not been tested (e.g. 10000 ‘cases’ at least 100,000 actual infections) But until we sample a significant amount of population randomly we won’t know. | ||
