Today:

Deadlifts 235x1 245x1 255x1 220x3 then 3 rest pause reps
log 100.5x1 1/2 100.5x2 100.5x 1 1/2
Push press 75x2x4
chins bw+15kgx8,8,7,6
farmers 64x30m with turn 104x15m 104x15m

the farmers were done on the drive so some bits were up hill which was really hard, missed the clean on my first set of push presses so did them from the racks which seemed to make them harder, had a go at some continental cleans with 60kg inbetween the sets of chins and could get them to lower chest level but struggled to get any higher. Tried the pushing my head through on the presses and that defintley helped on the lock out,

Going to back off after this week go back to my old favorite bill starr 5x5 which will take me up to the bdfpa northern qualifier.

had a really good session today so im in 2 minds about backing off next week, im tempted to go with the same rep scheme on deads and the log as im doing on squats ie one session 5x5 then the next 5 singles.

squats 5 singles with 202.5 really happy with this as my comp pb`s 202.5
bench 125x2x8
log cleans 103 for 5 singles these went up easy
stone to 50 inch platform new stonex2 to lip then another to lip
80kg stone to lip twice then another would probably have got these a inch or 2 lower really struggle with lapping the new stone as the weight in the centres off balence
yoke +200kg x 3m Unhappy
dropped to +170kg then 3 15m runs each run got better these were probably 20kg higher than last week as i modifed how im mounting the weights.

Decided against backing off and really pleased I did had one of those sessions where you feel kryptonite is the only thing that can stop you.

Squats 177.5x5x5
Bench 135x3x5 then 2x4
Rows 120x5x5
Stone new one to 46" 80kg to 46" twice Then lapped the new stone once and then 3 more times, heavy stones a bit hit and miss as weights arnt in centre. had a quiet day at work so been reading a bit about stone teqnique and tried deadliting it to my lap rather than getting over it and rowing it and it felt a lot easier, wish i didnt have to go and pick the tribe up as i felt i was on a roll and would liked to have played more.

Another really good session today:

Deadlifts 210kg 3 sets of 5 thumbless grip
Log 93kgx5x3
Chins bw+17.5kgx8,8,7,6
Farmers 104kgx13m then 15m uphill then 15m down hill bus pulled up outside just as I was storming up the drive like a asthmatic Thomas the tank engine muttering obscenity's would have been great to get a pic.

Yeah good to meet you mate. You put in a really good first session and with your strength your events will improve very quickly with regular practise. You are welcome back anytime.

Cheers mate, im pretty booked up at the weekends between now and xmas but would like to get at least one session in in janaury.

Today had a really quick one as didnt have long to train so reps were down as I picked the pace up a bit.

squats 180x4x5 1x4 my traps had a really tender point from saturdays yoke which was really sore durning these.
Bench 137.5x5,4,4,3,2
80kg stone 5 singles to 4ft stayed with my light stone on these to work on the technique thing is seem to be struggling with is hugging it tight enough it tended to slip on my t shirt if I tried to hold it high up on my chest like someone pointed out on saturday, The last few I tried with my arms more over it rather than round it like Johnny seems to do which helped, just need to work on the explosiveness to pop it up.

Todays

dead lifts 212.5x3x5
log 95x5x2
Chins bw +20kg 8,8,6,6
Was supposed to be farmers but felt a bit rough so did some stone technique work did 3 singles to 4ft with my 80kg stone.

Log felt really ropey today, think i was spoiled by using johnnys balanced log on saturday, the larger diameter of his definatley made the clean easier.
