First to 400kg - be someone like don reinhoudt or Jon kuc in mid 70s - what is interesting is that it stuck around that for ages. Sure it was still low 900lbs early 2000s

He'll probably be remembered in Britain as is Geoff Capes. I agree though he's not set the records high enough, he says he had 530 deadlift in him,he probably should have done it, and I think 230 log would be broke within 5 years, 250 though would be unbelievable!!

I love watching Eddie lift and he's been my favourite for a fair few years now but he hasn't been at the top long enough or won enough to set a lasting legacy.
I'd personally like to see him do another 2 years of full competition including Arnold's

He will be like Pudz, the one casual fans mention. Among strongman fans they will always look to the Arnold's as well. Shaw, Thor and Z can do 700kg yoke, 900lbs frame carry, 300lbs+ dumbbells, 250kg stone. Plus they have/will have WSM titles under their belts with the big gym lifts to go with it.

Relying on numbers alone for a legacy is dangerous....compare what Kaz lifted in deadlift and log to national level strongmen.

The higher the numbers go in the log the more strongmen will use jerks. The pressing records are basically minimal leg drive.

Saying all that...here is Eddie pressing a 226kg log seated. After the dumbbells.

Was the biggest deadlift up to that point Benni's 467kg? Eddie added 7% to that lift! How often is a world recorded exceeded by 7% to set a new world record. Not very, I reckon. It's like someone coming along and beating Usain Bolt 9.58 with an 8.91 100m. It's a massive, massive leap.

When Janashia and Licis are about 24 and lifting 440kg already it isn't that safe.

Iron biby will press a lot in the coming years as well.

You're not wrong, and at that time it was an unbelievable feat. My point is just looking at Thor now he seems to be getting close to it, but if he'd have gone out and put another 20kg on the record I don't think we'd have seen it beaten for a long time

Eddie is a static king and ruled The British scene for years.

He's definitely got a great legacy. He might go out as a single time winner, but he did become an all round monster.

Thor and Shaw are giants, yet Eddie can compete with them, like Z used to.

I never thought He would pull 500, or win WSM. Proved me wrong twice.

Whether I like the guy or not, I respect him immensely.

Love or hate him

Eddie Hall is now a household name synonymous with strength .

Not many have achieved that. Maybe only Capes, Jon Pal and Thor.

They usually can't pronounce his name properly but most non lifters still remember Pudzianowski as well. Often referred to as "that ripped polish guy" Grin

Also I feel Hixxy is getting left out of this WR log discussion, he's a definite dark horse. He's just cleaned a 230 on insta

Hixxy has said himself he wont get a new WR at Europes. And that 230 clean, while impressive, looked crippingly hard.

Ed and Z are the only 2 really capable of a 230 press (Biby is awesome, but still a couple of years away from WR level I believe). The bit im curious of is how many will go over 210, which was a WR in recent memory.

If Z is in top shape he can press it. I would love both guys to press it. Hall doesn't want to share the record, so he will go beyond if necessary.

He's obsessed with breaking the record, similar to his obsession with 500.

Eddie will definitely press 230, no doubt whatsoever.

Yep, he is posting 230 log WR within a list with a green cross for log on his facebook alongside all his other achievements with green ticks.

Mentally...he has already lifted it. I should place a bet!
