Happy with these, they felt like speed work! Definitely 4 or 5 reps there

120 x 3
140 x 3
160 x 1
165 x 3
170 x 3
175 x 3
The eagle eyed amongst you may have noticed that the top sets were a bit a of a departure from my usual Y x Y at a particular weight (should have been 165 x 3 x3). This is because the program has a fairly big jump next week (to 177.5) and I wanted to make sure that I could come close with it. Job done and on to the next one!

Front Squat
90 x 3
102.5 x 3
115 x 4

Last training in January (where has it gone?) and it was a pretty good one

Deadlift
60 x 5
100 x 5
140 x 3
165 x 5 x 5 ( all very quick – by my standards anyway- right to the last rep)

SLDL
120 x 3
135 x 3
150 x 5

First session of Feb, and a real doozy!

Bench
60 x 5
80 x 5
100 x 3
110 x 2
120 x 1
130 x 1
137.5 x 2
140 x 2
145 x 2
105 x 3 x 8

The warm ups felt great but the 137.5 didn’t go up quite as well as I’d expected. However, it was a spotterless PB, so quite pleased with that. Got a spotter (and a hand off) for the 140 and that flew up. Definitely another in there. The 1st rep of the 145 went up fine, but the second was a bit of a grind. Still, at the start of December, my 1RM was a ground out 145, so to double it is very pleasing

Front Squat
100 x 5
110 x 3
120 x 3
3 rep PB and an all time PB too! Most pleased with this, but onwards and upwards

Squat
60 x 5
100 x 5
140 x 3
150 x 5 x 2 . By god these felt heavy! A combination of inadequate warm ups and inadequate calories made for unhappy bedfellows….

Was going to do some fronties, but sacked them off

Better than the squats (another rep or 2 in each set) and found a reasonable groove
