Member 1589, 1219 posts SQ 300, BP 260, DL 345905.0 kgs @ 108kgs Eq | I would move some stuff in to give her the impression you are going to live there for a couple of months. if you don't move in then the s**t will hit the fan pretty much immediately with the landlord/letting agent. agree to her that you will pay her the rent directly (do not pay any more directly to the landlord) and that she should set up a standing order or direct debit for the rent herself. Explain that this is better in the long term as once you have found a place of your own it saves changing any details. dont talk to the landlord about it. it is incredibly unlikely that they will let you leave, you have signed a contract and making them aware of your situation or intention will only empower them. once all is set up, leave or just dont go back. if she doesn't pay then she will be evicted (you'll both be evicted but she will be resident). as they have her payment details and contact details they are more likely to chase her for the rent than you as you are jointly and severably liable. if they cant chase her then they will come after you. in order to affect your credit rating (unless you have signed a credit agreement) they will have to take you to the small claims court, get a judgement and then you will have a period of time to pay. they will more than likely take your ex to court than you. or take all of the doors off and hide them | ||

 Uk limbo dancing champion Member 2666, 6551 posts SQ 202, BP 170, DL 255627.0 kgs @ 88kgs UnEq | i think wot id do is beat her at her own game. shes tricked you when you thought things were ok n then f**ked u over. live there for a while act nice n everythings cool etc. then try n leave her in as much s**t as possible wen she least expects it. money obviously means alot to her for her to do wot she has so prob best to hurt her pocket. wait til shes out at work or somewere that wil give u few hours n either destroy all her stuff, or take everything of hers n move out. let her come home to an empty flat or a trashed one. this happened to my dads mate once n all they left him was a kettle + 1 cup with a teabag n sugar in lol. another alternative to hurt her pocket is get a loan of some sort at that address, dont pay it n let bailiffs come n take her s**t. obviously keep your nice belongings at a mates or familys house. this may f**k up ur credit rating tho but it seems thats guna happen anyway. revenge is best served cold. good luck with woteva u decide mate, just give it alot of thought before doing anything drastic. | ||

You seem from your posts to be a decent guy, and putting yourself in that position would grind you down really quick imo. When my ex and I broke up we were still living in the same house for a couple of months because we had a little girl and wanted to make the seperation as uncomplicated as possible, sort housing, money etc first. Even though neither of us had a new partner during that time, I have never felt stress like it, to the point it made my feel physically ill. I dont have it in me to be a dick and make things difficult, but she was more than capable. I went through it as I felt it was better for my daughter, you have no such tie. She sounds way more manipulative than you seem like you could be, so not moving in is absolutely the right thing imo. Good luck with the financial part mate, but whatever you lose, I dont think you can put a price on the s**t it would cause you moving in | ||
