28/11/07

Push Press (from rack)- 70/3/3, 90/3, 110/3/1

Behind The Neck Jerks- 70/3/3, 90/3

Cleans- 70/3, 90/3, 110/f, 100/3

Seated DB Press- 30/8, 35/6

Lat Raise- 15/8/10

Shrugs- 150/10, 160/25

Week 2- Rack Push Press- 70/3/5, 105/8 Cleans- 70/3/5, 100/8

Week 3- Clean and Press- 70/5, 80/3, 110/6/6
Week 4- Rack Push Press- 80/3/3, 110/6 Cleans- 80/3/3, 110/6

Week 5- Clean and Press- 80/5, 90/3, 115/4/4
Week 6- Rack Push Press- 80/3, 90/3, 115/4 Cleans- 80/3, 90/3, 115/4

Week 7- Clean and Press- 80/5, 90/3, 120/3/3
Week 8- Rack Push Press- 80/3, 90/3, 120/3 Cleans- 80/3, 90/3, 120/3

What does everyone think of the above?
AvatarThing
looks ok try some tricep work too
AvatarBigKen
Yeah, I do tris on Fridays after squats. Hows your prep for the qualifier Neil?
AvatarThing
if you go on to my journal i have posted my cycle for the build up to it. but the deadlifts for reps is my main concern, just because i have chnaged my technique but for the better. other than that i feel that i should be ok for the quallifier. fingers crossed i'll get the the final but it will be very very hard.

try doing triceps on your pressing night also and on your squat nite too.
AvatarBigKen
Yeah, my main concern is the deads too, should hoefully get two or three. Pressing should be alright and then evenything else will be sound.

Really want to make it through, jst need to see what happens.

what other pressing work do you do in an average week? Any strict pressing?

cant really comment about the numbers mate, but the idea of alternating c&press and rack push press and cleans alone is a good one, but personally i would do both sessions every week, one light focusing on speed and form, one heavy as you have written there. Two pressing days per week should surely be ok?

I usually do either seated DB or barbell press and sometimes standing barbell aswell.

I could try to do two sessions a week, but a little reluctant to do this because Im already doing the Coan/ Phillipi routine and then with heavy pressing and squatting too I feel there may be a case of overtraining just waiting to happen.

After the deads, Im usually too knackered even to do some hammer curls, same after legs and tris.

Will see how it goes at the start and then maybe up it a little.

Good beasting sessions Ken.

If you train tri's on a Friday, won't they always be sore on a Saturday (therefore affecting your log ptessing)?
