12" Rack Pulls w/ doubled minis- 120/3, 170/3, 220/1/3 Just realised it was 220kg I was pulling not 200 as I thought in the gym. The different set up to usual made it extremely hard!

Train at the Marinecraft in Dumbarton mate and also Strathclyde Uni. Going to start coming down with Gregor Edmunds to do some oly stuff on a Saturday at Scotstoun as well after the Europes Qualifier in March.

Modifying my speed upper day slightly. I don't believe that speed bench or speed push press has had that much of an effect to my overall pressing strength. What I need to work on is general explosiveness, which is going to be from the replacement of speed pressing movements by olympic exercises, and brute tricep strength.

I think I had more in me, but got a pair of Nike Romaleos today and used them for the first time there. With them straight out the box and not broken in my feet were in extreme discomfort... forgot I had this same problem when I got my other oly shoes!

you dont think that speed bench or oh has much affect what do you think on speed deads or squats?? more questions sorry how do you do your training split??

I believe that since I try to be as explosive as possible I get enough speed into my pressing movements already so the carryover is very minimal, plus I'll always fail mid movement right where tris kick in. Speed stuff for squat and dead has really improved those lifts for me though.

My split right now is this...

Monday- conditioning
Tuesday- speed upper
Wednesday- max lower
Thursday- conditioning
Friday- max upper
Saturday- speed lower
Sunday- events

you only have a limited time to apply force to the barbell and this is decreased more by using your legs, so I definitely think it has helped. You haven't got THAT much stronger on your pressing so I def think that's why it's gone up.
