Cheers, not sure if I'll get the 290 next week. Thinking of doing reps at 260 next week and 270 the week after and see how things go.

exellent work mate! you are good for a few reps in the qualifiers, and that means a lot of points from that event i think because there must be fair few who wont nail any reps at all.

Big pull the beast!

A bit of talc against bare thighs and the bar would probably slide up nicely without so much hitching.

On to 300!

Yeah the talc on the thighs is a good idea.

Without wanting to piss on your fire mate, it didnt look like you locked your legs out on that lift, also the legs were very wobbly. Dont get me wrong, I admire what you are doing, you are shifting a hell of a lot of weight at 19, I just think that weight was just out of reach. I would be inclined to drop the weight like you say and work back up. All that aside mate, well done, I think you will be pulling over 300kgs this year easily Happy

Yeah mate I know the legs were dodgy, main reason is because my on the right hand was almost gone since with the dive technique I grasped the bar too far out and it was keeping the bar on the finger tips. I dont mind if there is hitching since it doesnt matter in strongman.

I do agree that weight was right on the limit so that why Im repping for the next couple of weeks.

Ok mate. You are right with the hitching, it doesnt matter in strongman, as long as you get the weight up, and Im sure with bare legs and talc the bar would have travelled smoothly enough for you to lock out anyway. Good stuff mate, I look forward to seeing more videos!

Hi mate, continental cleans are from floor to stomach, but not resting on the belt and then up to shoulders.

My comp is on the 9th of Feb and is the Scotlands Strongest Man Qualifiers; I'll be the youngest to qualify if I do.

I have been lifting weights since I was 12, but only seriuosly in the gym from 15 1/2 so 4 years. i first started out doing bodybuilding, but then realised strength was increasing well and then planned to do a powerlifting comp but that never happened. Entered a strongman comp my mate was promoting and was bitten by the bug.

Please feel free to ask any more questions mate. Grin
