Just an update on my situation. Looks like I've got football related quad injuries. Yes BOTH quads. Even had to limp off the pitch yesterday and leave them to struggle on with 10 men Unhappy

So lots of stretching, massage, and not squatting for a while. Obviously I'm pretty unhappy with this state of affairs, but on the plus side it seems only muscular so hopefully not overly serious nor longterm (I hope!), also in the meantime I can work on my pissy bench.

Tuesday 30th October

Bench: 50 x 5,5, 70 x 5, 80 x 5, 90 x 3,3,3,3,3.
CG Bench: 75 x 5,5,5.
BB Row: 60 x 8,8,8.
Chainsawing 1 metre logs into 3s: 20 logs x 2 cuts (supersetted with all the above) Happy

Still limping like an old man. Quads a little better after plenty of deep heat, massaging, stretching and hobbling about. Found a thread on an injury forum that fits my injury perfectly here - looks like I'm not alone but also looks like it's manageable. IMO it's not having played football for years combined with building up some muscle that was perhaps not as flexible as it could have been. STRETCHING!

Neil if i am going to whizz past you on any thing it will definitely not be squats tried 145k last night
and it absolutely f**king buried me, I m thinking about changing my squating day to a sunday as i really struggle after a day at work! also think I s**t out a bit on max attempts and loose the battle on the way
down before I even start to try and get back up again! Might have ago at your deadlift though although progress may be a bit slow with that as i'm trying to improve my s**t technique!

I dont know about you but I find my injuries seem to get worse around the kids bedtime forcing me to lie on the sofa recouperating whilst the wife puts the kids to bed on her own!

Jesus Christ Ed, you're making me nervous, you got cameras dotted about my house or something! As you say, my injuries do seem to flare up a little worse when the kids' bath and bed time comes... heh Happy

Well you beat me to 200 AND 210 I seem to remember, so next stop 220. Don't know when I'll be in a position to give that one a go, but I hope it's before the year's out. How about you? Based on past performance it'll probably be at least a couple of weeks before me.

If training goes well i'm going to try for 220 at the sugden meet up in december but thats a way off at the mo as my probable max at the moment is about 170k
