Squat (old suit bottoms on);
baxrx10
70x5
120x3
140x3
160x2
180x2
190x2
200x2
210x2

Platform deadlift (-4");
70x3
120x2
140x1
180x2
200x2
220x3

RDL- 160x8
SLDL- 160x8
Power shrug- 160x10

Matt was down today at Area 51. Both of us had very nice sessions indeed. Squats in the suit bottoms were that bit better today. Not spot on yet but better than last week. Some smart doubles squating then on to some platform pulls up to a nice tripple with 220kg. Then some dam hard work on the assistance lifts. Eyeballs well and truly out to do the set of SDLD and keep em strict during lst 3 reps! All good stuff indeed.

Then rounded of by chinesse buffet! Luverly juberly!

Good stuff. I tried some knee wraps the other day and f**king hated them! First time time in nearly a year though.

So I take it you are building up for an equipped comp? Adding equipment bit by bit?

Cheers youngy. Not bad squats. Have done better raw.

Yes Phil, buidling up slowly. Don't plan to be in my meet suit for more than 5 weeks.

8/7/09

Bench press;
bax15
70x3
80x3
90x3
100x1
110x1
125x1 (old shirt)
145x1
160x2 (=pb)

Floor press (narrow grip);
70x3
90x3
110x3
125x3 (possibly a pb, but then not done much with a narrow grip)
110x6

Flys- 10x10, 15x10, 20x10

Rope face pulls &rt; Rope straight arm pulldowns- 20x3

Nice session today. Planning on 160 for 3 singles but felt good for a double. Only just though and had to well and truly grind out the last rep. Probably should have done the 3 singles and kept em cleaner but an equal pb is no bad thing. Finshed there.

Assistance work was solid. 125x3 floor press is probabaly a pb with a narrow grip. Reckon another 5kg in there, more fresh. Other assistance just got the blood going in the right areas job done!

Last week of agecny work and putting up marques. Was done the boat show monday, which at least was a 15min walk back home. Pretty long days though, but not as hard work as other jobs I have done!

Cheers Tom and Phil

Tom; I am not putting in gym lifts for my equipped pbs now. Not until my comp total etc is closer to my psuedo total. My unequipped psuedo total is only 10kg of my best meet total and only my bench gym pb is higher than a comp pb (and only by 5kg).

Cheers. Not thought too hard on it. Probably open 250/170/250. Main aim is to qualify for brits nxt year, but really want to crack 700 total. As long as I am solid on 3 lifts should be fine.

Squat (old suit bottoms)
barx10
70x5
120x3
160x3 knee wraps on
180x2
200x2
220x3
120x3 (gear off)
140x2
160x1
180x1
190x1

Deadlift;
70x3
120x2
160x2
180x1
195x1
195x1
195x1
195x1
195x1
195x1
195x1
195x1
195x1
195x1
195x1
195x1
195x1
195x1
195x1
195x1
195x1
195x1
195x1 (could have written it oiyt short hand but bahhh)

Power shrugs (from the hang);
160x3
180x3
200x3

Meehhhh squats, enjoyable deads. Squating was okay, but never felt entirly comfatable. Needed another good inch in depth on last set. Quite frankly I have over-estimated the support these old suit bottoms are giving me and instead of backing of a tad have just cracked on. In hindsiight the last few weeks should have been lighter with more work sets. Ohh well.

Deadlifting felt good. Technically on the money and even by the end the lockout was strong, and off solid speed.

Power cleans nice. Could have gone heavier (top tripple was no probs) but quite honestly didn't fancy pulling 220 of the floor Tongue
