Member 5836, 366 posts SQ 220, BP 137.5, DL 235592.5 kgs @ 80kgs UnEq | I always feel guilty about being happy with the changes brought about from the last nine months. This year has been great in certain aspects - partner had a promotion, I got a new job - both allowing us to move to an area of the country we had been wanting to move to since we got together ten years ago.

When I have enough cash, I get a deep tissue. Member 465, 11029 posts SQ 240, BP 175, DL 302.5717.5 kgs @ 104kgs UnEq | Read some good books Got into doing some meditation Caught up on loads of jobs and house work Enjoyed the slower pace of life Listened to a lot more music Got back playing guitar Saved some good money And most importantly enjoyed the fact I ain’t running around chasing my tail at 100 miles an hour and trying to do this and that which in reality isn’t that important. It’s opened my eyes to what’s most essential and important to me There’s also some serious things that have pissed me off with it which have caused huge problems

I guess I should grab a spoon Pete as I loved the first few months of lockdown, must admit it's dragging on a bit now!

Member 174, 1235 posts | Post Edited: 24.12.2020 @ 17:55 PM by Bod Got down to my ideal running weight.Knocked decent chunks off my 5k, 10k and 15 mile times. Invested in regular physiotherapy! Set a goal of 5 yoga sessions per week which I’ve hit. Stretch and mobility work 6 times per week. Continued to (attempt to) learn Spanish. Read assorted books that I had been wanting to but hadn’t actually found the time. Worked on a few papers on voting behaviour. Cut down social media use by 70% (if the app I’m using is accurate.) Engaged in an elaborate blood-doping programme with the mighty Boar.

I’m more than a little jealous of your access to fishing opportunities. Do you sell any btw? I caught an 8 and a 12kg tuna in one trip. I also caught about 45kg of puffer fish on one day. Only 7 of them, but they were big boiz. I'll tag you in the pic on facebook. I managed to sell 3 kilos of a variety of rabbitfish that we catch loads of in Cyprus in the summer. My gran just wanted room in the freezer. Oh and a friend's dad argued me into submission because I gave him a kilo of sea bass as I caught 21 of them that day. I still go once a week, get washed by freezing cold water, then come back. Nothing until April or so (more of those rabbitfish things) unless the fish farm "explodes". It just gets ripped open when they get too big to sell and the money is recouped via insurance.

When lockdown happened and all gyms were closed, three friends and I put our money together and opened our own private setup. Not a gym per say but good enough for two powerlifters and two strongmen to have everything they need. It’s also filled with competition spec equipment ie. bench, plates, bars and so on - whereas we were used to training on regular gym equipment. Overall it’s probably been my best year of training and it’s really set the foundations for some good progression in the coming years. In a selfish way I have to thank covid for making it happen.

403 forbidden message Member 160, 5121 posts SQ 190, BP 137.5, DL 225552.5 kgs @ 86kgs UnEq | Nope, I only had to close the gym between March and May I think. There was a no going out after 12 midnight until 6am or something curfew during that time. A few villages got strictly no entry/exit too. Things have started to go downhill once again, but it looks like places won't close a second time for the time-being.

Nope IT contractor, so no help from Unisys rishi (if you’re a contractor/self employed you’ll know all about the Tory assault on SME limiteds over last few years) Luckily was able to get plenty of remote work so it’s worked out well in the end

Taught my full timetable to my full classes (we've been issuing iPads for over a decade, so no excuses) over zoom throughout the lockdown, which is surprisingly tough (because you can't see who's working, so you have a lot more follow-up), spent the summer getting ready for teaching groups with some kids in front of me and some at home, and for mixed ability classes to minimise the damage when "bubbles burst". It's been comfortably in my top three hardest years in the seventeen or so I've been at the school. A couple of my colleagues - notably in PE - were furloughed on full pay, and I can't say I wasn't a tiny bit envious. That said, much as I resent the extent to which the government seem willing to put teaching staff at risk, I'm grateful to have work. A major upside of the profession has always been security, and this year more than ever that's been a blessing. My friends are disproportionately in music, events, and hospitality, so I am extremely aware of what it's been like for them.
