when did you stop feeling weak?

I think this is a negative psychological affect that I have associated with weight lifting.

When I first used to lift, I thought 180kg deadlift was good, when I first started in a commercial gym.

I recently pulled 240kg for a smooth double. 3x my bodyweight. As I know olympic lifters can C&J that. It really isn't that difficult for a 80kg lifter to lift that after a few years of training.

My next goal is road to 300kg DL as I would like to be a member of that club. I currently think this would be strong, jut once I achieve it I will think well that was easy. Now I feel weak.

I don't know If this is because I see 400kg deadlitfs and what not on a weekly basis.

Reading this back I sound insecure, I'm not.

When I did Judo competitively I thought I was strong, as in my weight class I rarely found anyone physically stronger(in my limited exposure), but as soon as I started lifting I realised just how much of a novice I was in this discipline.

More recently I don't really think in terms of being weak or strong. Since tearing my pec, my bench will unlikely be 'strong' in relation to my other lifts, but I will do what I can to improve it.

Compared to my peers at uni I am strong, but compared to most on here I am weak.

In conclusion to this long and pointless post..

As long as I keep improving I am happy.

Nobody at 80kg CJ 240 - 200 is a world class lift and 210 is an untouchable in 15 years world record.

Just keep training and working towards your end goal, don't sweat what someone else is doing or has done, everyone has a unique journey.

I don't think I've ever felt weak, per se. But I didn't start to think I was strong until about 10 months ago (when I decided to compete), at that point my lifts were something like:
260 squat,
270 deadlift,
100kg overhead,
170kg bench.

No real idea why that made me think I was 'strong', as there are plenty of stronger guys in the world, but I do nowadays consider myself a strong lifter, and the fact that others have lifted more doesn't change that. (it may help that i'm confident enough to believe I will equal many of them once I've done this for longer).

I feel weak because I really want to be a BDFPA or GBPF British Champion. I'm a long way off the pace in BDFPA and I'm never ever going to achieve it in GBPF. This makes me feel weak, frustrated and pissed off when I dwell on it.

I felt strong with a 140+ raw bench, 230 squat with belt and wraps, 240ish raw dead. Strongest at my gym, give or take. I'm sire if I was next to a raw 200 bencher, I'd feel weak again.

I feel weak now with a 190 odd dead and a 120 odd raw bench.

I do not feel weak, weak feels me! He is a sneaky critter that finds a way to your noggin. Reach to the sky and ask a higher power out loud,"power come to me!" Don't tell your lady or she will tell you to stop loafing with that dude. Rest and dream! Soon the answer will come. I will send it to you when all the negativity leaves and this thread fades past them pages too far to click. Think nothing like the platypus. Research the creatures REM and practice it! Water my friend! Wash the negative! You are not a fly battering yourself against a screen! Weakness will leave when you ignore him. He will get bored bromate!
