Cod, goat cheese, mushroom, leek.

Loosely inspired by the sea bass and goat cheese beignets I had at Nutter's a while back, and my frequent blue-cheese-stuffed chicken-topped mushrooms dish. The cod, mushroom and cheese were all cooked pretty well, and worked together ok; if I can get the cheese sliced even thinner it would be better. I wonder if it would work to stick it in the freezer for half an hour and then put it on the mandoline? Might try on Wednesday.

Last time, the first time, in roasted leeks they were maybe a touch over; this time the round were a little under and the longer pieces definitely so. We live and learn. Also, they need something, maybe a vinaigrette.

3 M&S breaded chicken breasts straight from the box to the oven.
Side salad also made by M&S but I added green giant sweetcorn, beetroot and tomato to this and dressed with balsamic vinegar.

In Manchester for "I'm Sorry, I Haven't A Clue". We went to Abdul's first; chicken and lamb tikka kebab, chips, then next door to Archie's for dessert (mini pancakes). All very satisfactory.

Can't beat M&S food was rasied on it! I even used to work there in the warehouse and at the end of the day we had to destroy all the food that was going past its sell by date. We managed to find a spot to do it that wasn't in view of CCTV so used to stuff my face with sandwiches, pies, and cakes! Happy times!
