Two homemade rib eye burgers with kimchi, seracha, rocket, tomatoes and smoked bacon on Brioche. I've been trying different wood chips on the gas bbq and decided Im just going to add smokey bacon to everything instead. Win win.

I quickly scrambled 5 eggs from our chickens, grated in some halloumi and other cheeses, and got a phone call whilst i was eating from a friend.
"You hungry?"
"What food?"
"Kebab"
"I'm currently eating, just a regular portion"
I got even hungrier as I was eating lamb chops, grilled er..... sorta meatball/burger things, chicken shish, yoghurt, pitta bread, chips.

Post training last night was 300g of beef rump steak, 300g of lamp rump steaks, and some high end pork sausages. You gotta love a asda yellow sticker haul.

I should probably specify that it was a mixed grill. When I say kebab, do English people think doner by default?

Last night it was another braised rabbit.

Shawarma is the Turkish chopped meat skewer.
Gyros is the delicious Greek version with more oregano.
Donor is the Frankinstein combination of German mechanically reclaimed meat and Turkish seasoning invented in East Germany to punish communists.
Kebob is the tandoori BBQ heaven.

Turks don't call it shawarma. We call that "yaprak doner" which means leaf doner. Doner itself was invented in Ottoman rule Turkey, and the first photo exists from 1855. Greeks also used to call it doner (Turkish word, which means to turn/spin) but then they changed it to spite Turks.

Incredible lunch at the Parker's Arms, in the trough of Bowland near Clitheroe, with a friend. Potato scratchings; oysters; (shared) wild garlic tart; crab and lobster bisque; magnificent slab of turbot; wet Nellie with marmalade ice-cream. Perfect. Not often I go all fish and seafood, no meat, but I'm glad I did here.
