Congrats to the top 3 yesterday and especially Ben for retaining his title. (even though you think my rules suck)

It was a very hot day and the comp was pretty much wrapped up in around four and a half hours. Not too long but long enough for me to feel wiped out in the sun!!

Some really great stand out performances on some events but Ben showed again that consistance is key.

I guess we will wait for the vids and peoples right ups....

actually 9th!

Thats because the competitions find the best Strongman not the strongest man, which is something that an awful lot of people seem to overlook, or are too daft to realise.

Well done to everyone who competed, especially leggiez who went down carrying an injury and still came in the top 5.

There is of course that, but more likely in this case it was the fact that he pulled out injured half way through the comp which resulted in a (still impressive) 9th place finish.

Well done to all the competitors, sounds like a good day was had by all.

Karl only pulled out of the Stones which was the last event. He did struggle some what on the yoke and farmers. But had two very good static events on the axle and dead.

I think they find the strongest man allround.....static strength is not the only strength facet imo

Big thanks to mark, martin, terry and martin cee for putting on a great comp

Ben was outstanding once again, but dan isnt a million miles off. Valdas was also superb, and as ben says, if he can improve his pull will be the man to beat in 2014

Mark has the results abait messy - I'm sure he can post them up for everyone to see. I will admit there was a little mistake at the beginning where the person left to do the sheets had been left on her own with no QA in process. So along with reffing I made sure they where checked.

Karl Grants deadlift highlight of the day

Well done to Ben on retaining his title and also well done to Dan Cave and Valdas on podium. Think if both ben and dan move upto opens next year as they have said then Valdas could be the one to beat next year, good on all the events bar deadlift, get that lift up and will be tough to beat.

My day didnt go to well but everything cant go to plan all the time and theres always next time.
