Squat :
  • 65% x 5 : 100kg x 5
  • 75% x 5 : 115kg x 5
  • 95% x 5 : 130kg x 8




Power Clean :
  • 50kg x 6
  • 60kg x 6
  • 70kg - 3x6


Comments : Kept it short. Was out drinking last night so happy enough with the 8 at 130kg on the squat. Would have liked to get 9 or 10, or for the 8 to have been easier.

Overhead Press :
  • 40kg x 10 (strict)
  • 60kg x 7 (strict)
  • 70kg x 5 (push)
  • 80kg x 4 (push)
  • 80kg x 3 (push)


Speed Bench (30s rest, close Grip) :
  • 60kg + chains : 8x3


20kg KB Clean and Press :
  • Right : ~55
  • Left : 26




Hex Bar Overhead Press :
  • 50kg x 8
  • 50kg x 8


Comments : Was a good session yesterday. 60kg x 7 (strict) felt like no real struggle and is the most reps I've done at 60kg. KB clean and press got the heart rate up. Tried to replicate the log press with the hex bar. Was okay in that the hand position was pretty similiar but could get it out infront of the chest like the log sits.

Log Press :
  • 60kg x 5 (strict)
  • 80kg x 2 - PB
  • 85kg x 1 - PB
  • 90kg x F
  • 75kg x 1 (Failed 2nd, WTF)


Yoke :
  • 130kg x 50m (drop and turn at 25m)
  • 210kg x 25m (no drops)
  • 250kg x 25m (2 drops, dropped about 1m in, then about 18m)
  • 170kg x 50m (drop and turn at 25m, fast)
  • 170kg x 50m (drop and turn at 25m, fast)


15" Deadlift :
  • 155kg x 5
  • 175kg x 3
  • 200kg x 2
  • 210kg x 1
  • 220kg x F (slipped out my hand)
  • 220kg x 1 (put belt on and re-chalked after fail and went again)


Medley (90kg farmers 12m, loading 85kg stone, 65kg barrel and 85kg barrel) :
  • ~40s


Farmers Pickup and hold :
  • 110kg
  • 150kg - 4s


Comments :Good events session at Unit 20. Log press felt good to start off with but I need to sort my tech I think. First time trying yoke. Happy to make the 25m with 250kg, enjoyed the fast 170kgs much more though, good cardio. First time doing 15" deadlifts, felt okay, rather pull from the floor though. 220kg was close to a max I think. In the medley it was my first time doing farmers, moved them about 1m and dropped. Picked them up and went slower, felt okay. Loading wasnt too heavy either. Absolute killer on the lungs. Joined in with the farmers pickup and hold at the end. Was just happy to get the 150kgs off the ground.

Well I am doing a first timers comp in april so I guess that answer is yes. Also plan to do a couple of powerlifting competitions if possible.

Comments : Good session. Improvement again on bench. Got a good triple on video, wanted to do it at home as I know weights elsewhere can vary. Took less rest than usual on everything. Went well.

You should consider taking new maxes on your 531 day mate, on at least bench and deadlift, get yourself over the 500 mark.

Your benching seems to be developing really well, good job!

Thanks mate. I will within the next 4 weeks. My year-end goal was 500kg total so I'll need to do something soon!

Comments : Good session. Squats felt harder than I would have liked but still hit my target. Power cleans started well and then quickly got worse. Paused squats are a great exercise, really force you to work.
