Still a fair amount of pain but its starting to ease off now. Not bad pressing seeing as I was worried about the arm going into it. 5kg off a PR if I remember correctly.

1 round with empty bar
2 rounds with 40kg
2 rounds with 30kg

40kg rounds killed me off so I had to drop the weight a bit.

im doing the last minute BDFPA meet in ipswich on sunday. only need 470 odd so rock up, hit 150/120/200 then f**k off. job done.

Hopefully mate, aiming to hit those lifts on openers then f**k off lol. Not remotely worried about any of them and I ll train as normal this week.

Agaisnt my advice!!!

Kidding din't realise it was sunday and if its no probs getting to it then it's another meet uder you belt and hopfully not too stressful.

I'd suggest planning attempts to make sure you get qualf on openers 9not yet done maths in my head) and then take solid 2nd and 3rd attempts keeping the load in check unless it just feels great and worth a pb shot

I literally need 467.5, and I dont really feel like taking anything heavy at the moment to be honest. I ll rock up and smash my openers in, but im not expecting to take more than 3-6 lifts.

I was thinking 150/120/200 on openers for 470 and just binning it. Is this a bad option?

Pretty much binned it after the squats, didnt feel great going into the session so after a decent PR I figured I may as well call it there. Previous best rep PR's are 145 x 8 and 160 x 3 so this was a good effort I feel. Vid to come.

Nice squatting. I am a bit fearful of the 5/3/1 squat days. I haven't done any more than 5 reps above 80kg for a long long time. My first week will be 5+ at 150 *insert terrified smiley*

Lol you soon get used to it mate. I quite enjoy the higher rep stuff to be honest, it can be good fun smashing rep PR's.

Well done on the PB. "Ye cannae whack it wae a big stick" as we say in my country.
I'm looking forward to the vid.
Props also on using the foam rolling and hockey ball. It's something which I feel is greatly under rated for warmup, rehab and injury prevention.
