Probably the break from benching combined with...doing a fair bit of overhead. Anyway, was encouraged somewhat by this 40 60 80 100 110 120kg - very very easy. Of course it's 30kg under my PB, but last time I did C+J was a few weeks ago, when I did an awkward as f**k dodgy 100kg. I think I will keep throwing a heavier one in each week and see what happens... Also, jerking with the same grip width as my clean, I used to jerk a lot wider as I have long arms. Squats - beltless bar 70 x 3 x 3 110 140 170 195 211kg x 5 211kg x 5 - ok, tired as f**k now 211kg x 5 - even more tired, considering f**king off the 4th set 211kg x 7 - Did some music and "hyping up" and f**k me, that s**t really works! I always listen to my own music on an mp3 player at competitions right before I lift, so I'm not affected by whatever s**t is playing. I read a study. It showed that fast/heavy/whatever music is no better than silence, but gay key 103 faggot music is actually worse than silence for lifting. | ||

Go with the latter? Like a couple of sets at 60kg and I was cramping kind of harder. | ||

Best I've squatted I reckon. If I wasn't following a plan, I'd have been tempted to go for 272.5. Bench Bar x 3 sets of 10 60 x 3 x 3 90 110 130 150 x 1, easy enough, even without trying to be explosive. Pec fine. 165 x 1 - slingshot 175 x 1 - slingshot 155 x 5 - slingshot Deadlift against red band 70 120 170 220 270 300 Fine..... band really makes a difference! | ||

Although none of the reps were in doubt, mentally it's a bit of a struggle for me and just ends up feeling a lot harder than it is. BUT here we are at the end of my 3 week block of whatever you want to call this. I will, starting in just over a week, repeat this with slightly heavier weights, finishing on 220kg for the same reps and sets...hopefully. Bench with slingshot bar 60 100 140 170 185kg x 1 140kg x 10 I estimate I get 15-17.5kg from the slingshot... I think if I get up to 200kg, I'll stand a chance at 180kg on the day in comp. | ||
