Week 2 - Day 5

Clean and Jerk "for a laugh"

bar x a few - immediately noticed how much move comfortable i was with the bar overhead. Probably the break from benching combined with...doing a fair bit of overhead. Anyway, was encouraged somewhat by this

120kg - very very easy. Of course it's 30kg under my PB, but last time I did C+J was a few weeks ago, when I did an awkward as f**k dodgy 100kg. I think I will keep throwing a heavier one in each week and see what happens...

Also, jerking with the same grip width as my clean, I used to jerk a lot wider as I have long arms.

I didnt think you ever hyped up, i didnt think you could even hype up, there is miley cyrus on in the background of your videos and it doesnt seem to affect anything lol

It depends how tired I am really... sometimes it's a little too easy to not quite give enough of a s**t and approach things with the wrong attitude when I'm half asleep. I always listen to my own music on an mp3 player at competitions right before I lift, so I'm not affected by whatever s**t is playing.


I read a study. It showed that fast/heavy/whatever music is no better than silence, but gay key 103 faggot music is actually worse than silence for lifting.

Tom, with your stiff leg deadlifts, do you just unlock the knees or do you let them "give" a little bit? my natural inclination is for the knee to unlock a bit more and come a little forward when in that position, but if I force it to stay just about unlocked, it is much harder. Go with the latter? Like a couple of sets at 60kg and I was cramping kind of harder.

255kg x 1 - really easy, awesome form. Best I've squatted I reckon. If I wasn't following a plan, I'd have been tempted to go for 272.5.

Well....this got hard. Although none of the reps were in doubt, mentally it's a bit of a struggle for me and just ends up feeling a lot harder than it is.

BUT here we are at the end of my 3 week block of whatever you want to call this.

I will, starting in just over a week, repeat this with slightly heavier weights, finishing on 220kg for the same reps and sets...hopefully.
