You have jumped in the deep end with the cream of SM in Scotland, so it is going to be difficult. You could have done 2 or 3 novices, most probably winning or placeing very high, but you would rather test yourself against the best, and that should be applauded. good work mate, you will do yourself proud at the comp. You only have to look at how complimentary robocop was of you effort in the SSM u105kg to release you can be a very good SM

tender forearms Member 193, 337 posts | cheers Joni, I will try the yoke and farmers on Tuesday, as you know I have only used the yolk and farmers about 3 times in 5 months, so I really do not know if I will move any of them without at least a few months training, if I move them at least 1 Inch I am doing it Trained in Dumbarton today, no bad session. Axle Press: 7 Sets 3 Reps 55/75/85/95/105/115/125KG, last set was just continous Reps no holding at top, and I hurt my wrist a bit, only going to do axle clean and press now, and go back to a barbell, because I have not used a barbell in months for overhead stuff, so hopefully, it will help my wrist 75-85 Degree Incline Axle Press: 5 Sets 1 Rep 95/115/125/135/145KG, easy press, but I had to take it off my self which was very hard indeed, so stopped here. Close Grip Bench Axle Lockout Press about 8 Inches To Lockout: 6 Sets 3 Reps 55/95/140/170/190/210KG, very strange to use the axle for Lockout work, but was very happy. Dumbell Bench Mimicking Log Grip: 3 Sets 8 Reps 15/45/60KG Dumbells. Going to dramatically change my training starting from tommorrow, and only max out now every 5 weeks, starting at 80% and working up 5% every week, also get 3-4 Sets of speed work going, with the idea of increasing basic lifts by 2.5-5KG every 5 weeks, because I have figured I have to train smarter not longer or heavier, because Iam not recovering from any session, hopefully it will work. Bodyweight 98KG.

knows some really strong guys Member 323, 1436 posts SQ 305, BP 200, DL 285790.0 kgs @ 105kgs Eq | Hi Stevie, I trained with you for a few weeks(sun strongman at dumbarton) leading up to the u105's and tied with you on points in the comp. Was very impressed, thought you done superb especially considering that you only had a few strongman sessions beforehand, a couple more years and you'll be right up there garanteed! your trainings looking good. Was also thinking of doing the uk's in dumfries(sp?), but I'm in the same boat as you in that the events are abit heavy and f**k knows if I could atempt them. Going to head down to dumfries this sunday or even up to dumbarton and then decide after trying the weights/events, even if I've got the slightest chance of shifting the weights(a rep or a few cm's) think I'll give it ago. Everyone has a pipe dream

tender forearms Member 193, 337 posts | Thing said: with this routine how many day do you train and how often will you hit the lower back as remember you'll have event training to think of as well for the uk scottish comp It is a three day Russian routine Thing, concentrating on Squat, Bench, deadlift, standing press 2 days speed work on everything and 1 day working from 80% up to 100% over 5 weeks, so not that taxing in first few weeks only maybe last 2 weeks then you come back down again, like a wave, I do not know if it will work, but I will give it a shot, because I am going to heavy to often and never recovering, I am either going to increase strength or decrease strength, I have never trained like this, so I am s**tting it a wee bit, but will stick with it for the first 5 weeks and see how it goes

Everyone has a pipe dream Good to see you here Stephen, it was great training with you and talking to you, you done superb in the comp, you got PB'S in everthying, and with more training you will get better and better, you have the ability for it no problem The comp is F*CKED for me now, I ripped my right Calf today in training, so I physically can not do it, I was looking forward to it as well, just one of those things. But saying that, if I where you I would do it, you got all PB'S in the U105KG's and I know you will get all PB's in this comp, I go for it, and get some good vids up of the comp, cause I cannae wait to see it. Are you going to start a training journal here it would be great to see it will be great to see you again in the next comp I do, in probably a few months, and you can kick my ass again

tender forearms Member 193, 337 posts | F*CK F*CK And A Buggery F*CK I ripped my right calf muscle today running with very light Farmers just 90KG, I was sprinting with them, and taking wide steps, and the Farmer hit me on the back of my calf, and I kid you not I thought someone had hit me with a baseball bat, it was just instant pain, and I am now hobbling about in agony, I have ripped 2 muscles in the last year, and this is by far the worst one yet, so I will have to take 1-2 weeks off training and start again, it is annoying because I am breaking all my PB'S in strength now, but this has thrown a spanner in the works again, so the comp in a few weeks is off, which is very annoying Had a great session today in Axle and Yoke and farmers until it happened, but it is just one of those things
