Beltless Squats

Decided to do some beltless squats just to see what I could get after doing 4 set of 2 at 160 last week. 170 felt good for a double but 180 felt like a ton of bricks nearly folded me in two. Probably ran out of energy but managed to grind it out.

Front Squats.

Never really bothered with fronts before but fancied giving them a try. Comfortable but horrible on my elbows and biceps

High bar squat.

80x10 for 3 sets

Leg extension

3 sets of 10

Bit of a play about session tonight as I compete next saturday so nothing to crazy.

Happy with this today as my back and abs were killing from the beltless squats yesterday. Heaviest I've been sumo so can't really complain only been doing them since I got back from Russia.

Rack pulls (just above the knee)

Decided to do heavy doubles on rack pulls after the bar ground to a near stop on my 230 deadlift from Monday in that position. Happy with the result today.

Bench

Decided to work through a comp warm up and did my 3 lifts to referees comp signals.

Bar x 10
60x5
80x5
102.5x1
122.5x1
132.5x1 all singles paused.

137.5 planned opener. Easy.
147.5 bit of work but easy press.
152.5 fail. Set up wrong didn't use any leg drive at all this will go up next sat.

Happy with this last set gave me something to think about but confident going into next sat.

Overhead press

Bar x 10
40x5
45x5 for 3 sets.

Rope pushdown

3 sets of 20. Pumped.

It's the end of a cycle of training mate so not done paused singles and needed to run through what I'm gonna do next week. Plus we have a few comp referees at our club so I can practice long pauses. I normally only do my planned opener and second, the third lift was just a token effort head wasn't really in it. Next week is back of with plenty of mobility.

What do u mean thought?? My 102.5 was rapid Phil. And it was beltless.

Train at doncaster all founders powerlifting club 3 days a week, also train at the gym where I work and also my garage if I need to get an extra session in.

Where abouts are u from Luke? Are you close to doncaster?

Ah is that the one above a pub? I did a comp there a few years ago I think.

I'm in Sc**thorpe, so not a million miles away.
