Conventional deadlift making a comeback? Or are you sticking with sumo and just using conventional as assistance?

Haha I haven't got an answer to be honest mate I'm just gonna jeep running them both side by side and see which one comes on the most. They are both feeling really good at the moment for a change.

Beltless squats

Bar x lots
60x5
80x5
100x5
120x3
140x2
160x2 for 6 sets

High bar singles.

140
160
170 pb
180 pb - only just.

Think my legs and cns are pretty much burnt out today beltless squats felt easy but my body aches all over. Oh well if it was easy we would let someone else do it.

Narrow grip bench

Bar x lots
60x5
80x5
100x3
120x1
130x1
140x1
150xf
120x9

All sets except last paused.

Very happy with todays benching even though I missed 150. To pause 140 narrow grip means my bench must be back on track.

Sumo/Conv deadlift

60x5
100x3
140x2
170x1
200xf
Switched to conventional at this point as sumo was feeling wank at this point.
180x1
200x1
220x1
230xf

Happy with the way conventional felt 220 flew up only missed 230 because it was a faggot attempt. All in all weird session mixed bag proper confused one week sumo feels good next week feels s**t.

Squats

Bar x lots
60x5
80x5
100x5
130x3
150x2
170x5 for 5 sets

Boom!! Well happy with these hard graft but never felt in doubt 5x5 @ 170 is most I've ever done.

High bar paused squats. (Beltless)

100x3 5 sec pause
120x3 5 sec pause
130x3 5 sec pause
140x3 5 sec pause

Probably some kind of pb felt good anyway. Well happy with todays session wish my other 2 lifts were going as well as my squat.

170x1
190x1
205x1

SLDL

180x5 t+g

Great session which is crazy considering how much pain my legs were in from yesterday. This session has convinced me to stick with conventional for the British classic. However I'm still gonna train sumo also.

Nice work Scott. Personally i have to say I tend to find my conventional DL and sumo a similar strength but the conventional is far more consistent.

Looks like your deadlifting plans are similar to mine. I am hoping for a 205 x 5 in the next few weeks. Hopefully building up to a 240 in Ashington in November.

Very impressive.

Cheers guys I have put some real hard graft in this week and my body can tell, feels like bits are dropping off me hopefully I will come back from holiday fresh and strong and the hard work will pay off for the British classic.

Squats

Bar x lots
60x5
80x5
100x4
120x3
140x2
160x2
180x4 for 4 sets big pb.

High bar paused squats (beltless)

120x2
140x2
150x2

Both reps 3 second pauses.

First session back after being away in Scotland for a week so didn't know how it would go. So I'm well happy with 4x4 at 180 proper graft enjoyed being back under the bar. Trained with regular training partner Rich who hit 4 doubles at 160. Great work. Both ramping things up now for the British Classic.
