I want to lift heavy so I can ruffle some feather and go for first place instead of taking an easy second. Getting the line right now is going to work better for me in the long run. Benching was aweful, not sure if it's fatigue from Saturday or if I'm having a wimp phase. Rows started out ok but got hard halfway through the 4th set, I struggled to get the bar up to half way. Also noted that my fresh bruises have formed over last weeks old bruises. Consistency.

You can alternate intensity on overhead and overhead lockouts, hit normal overhead hard, hit lockouts heavy loading but less volume and vice versa. Don't think it will impact chins much, you should try the style I use might work for you as keeps a better path.

Why can't it just be a case of slap on a shirt and bam 100kg bench press, hello records. Good points: * Can touch 80kg and do an ugly press; * Can get my normal arch; * Not being choked so much. Bad Points: The shirt was more hurty this week, probably because I had enough blood flow to feel where it was digging in.

Haven't maxed out on shoulder press for a while but I think I'll wait till after a while of doing lockouts since that's what will make or break the lift. Body weight press is looking doable later this year. JackRevans said:enjoyable front squats Easiest squat ever, you can either do it or you dump the bar because your core has collapsed or you've missed your line. Basically it's all leg drive and good line or you die.

I seem to be finding the line easier. The only draw back is I always feel as if my lats are knackered afterwards. Not sure if this is from making a "shelf" or arching my upper back.

Deficit Deadlift: 2X8 @95kg 3X8 @97.5kg Chest Supported Rows: 5X5 @52.5kg So I can now do a shaky press in a shirt. I need to work on the lockout though because the shirt will only get the weight a little off my chest, my triceps ( a weak point) have to work extra hard to finish the lift. I did a few negatives and half reps in the shirt getting the line, but only the presses are worthy of note now. Deadlifts weren't great today. I was a big wheezy baby and had to struggle through them. The strength is there, but the breathing isn't. Everything will be back to normal in a couple of days.

Board presses were hard at first but I started getting it in the later sets. If only I could arch as high as 1 board... Pushed for 8s on feet up bench but I wasn't getting it tonight. I'll keep hitting volume at these untill they're a bit more consistent.

Yeah, any more than 1 board and no pressing would be required. I'd like to being doing 5x5 at 120kg without the suit bottoms, but that's because I'm greedy and want all the squat weight. I did some judo tonight and got used as fodder for one of the mens' masters squad. Then had a beginner dunt me on my shoulder again. The coaches had some serious words with the heavy beginners, pointing out that a light practice is an opportunity for perfecting technique and not for mending damaged pride. The wife also started a training regime today, it was hilarious. He thought body weight squats meant he had to squat 85kg. He could only manage 5x8 at 60kg and was disappointed because of how hard it felt considering it's supposed to be a starting from scratch body weight regime. I laughed so hard I almost had an asthma attack. At least he tried to push himself this time, even if he was tricked into it.
