I'm happy that I can bench in a shirt, switching to the fury was a good move. There's still improvements to be made, better arch, tighter, quicker off the chest and at some point a paused press. And 10 at 67.5kg means I have no excuse for missing 80kg raw in a comp now.

Felt shaky and a bit sick on my last deadlift set, I called it at 7 rather than forcing the last rep.

Rows were rubbish, my scapula were doing the work but not getting very far with it.

Ross helped babysit the wife today. He's a pro at getting people to actually try in the gym.

How's "Dat lockout" progression coming on? Feel stronger at that? So you reckon you run out of fuel att the end??

Lockout on bench press seems stronger, I haven't stalled yet. I'm starting to struggle on deadlift though, but I think that it's more to do with getting the air in than any actual strength failure. I can grind out the last 3 reps if I need to.

I also just found out that my main competition can now bench 83kg raw, and I intend to keep that record. Her equipped squat and deadlift look stalled so I've got a better chance of playing catch up now.

Squat:
1X5 @60kg
1X5 @85kg
1 @105kg
5X5 @120kg (suit bottoms)

Board Press:
1X5 @40kg
1X5 @60kg
1X4 @80kg
2X6 @80kg

Feet up Bench press:
1X7 @50kg
1X8 @50kg
1X7 @50kg

Chest supported rows:
5X5 @55kg

Sets on rows started off string and then got weak on reps 4 & 5.

Not sure if these legs are more for squatting or snapping arms. Snapping arms can be pretty useful.

Threw a massive hisy fit when I got into the gym because there were no bars and some fanny was using the power bar to squat 40kg? I mean really, at that weight a power bar isn't going to make a difference. Stevie kindly offered me his platform though, so it was all cool.

We may need to start having the midgets work in togther due to lack of equipment.

Sure you're right about that lol! Great work on squats today, you are far from form challenging weights still which is fantastic. As Hannibal says, "I love it when a plan comes together"
Good work on the board work it will have a decent carry over for your equipped setup.
Need to hammer the upper back like a fanatic though.
See you at physio tomorrow.

Called it early on front squat, I may have got another 4 at 85kg, or I might have fainted. I thought I'd play it safe.

Not sure what's up, but eating plenty will fix it.

5 @60kg
2 @70kg (paused)

Equipped Bench:
1X2 @80kg
1X1 @85kg
1X1 @90kg, several fails above this but it was mostly due to line. Once I had the line there wasn't the energy left to finish the press.

Bench Press:
3X8 @70kg
2X7 @70kg

Deficit Deadlift:
3 @110kg
4 @110kg

Deadlift:
1X5 @110kg
4X6 @110kg

Chest Supported Rows:
1X5 @50kg
1X4 @55kg
3X5 @50kg

Disappointed with deadlifts. 110kg should really not have been a problem, and then it started messing about with my head and I went back to the floor. Took a little while to get my line from the floor correct again.

I don't feel that I'm quicker off the floor for deadlifts but my glutes kick in much sooner so I accelerate sooner and faster. I got some good improvement out of it.

Bench could have been better. I know I can hit 95kg, but I need to be better with my line in the shirt. I remember the last time, the shirt got binned and I could raw bench more than my shirted bench. That's not going to happen this time.

You've got your line back think you just need to capitalise on the strength gained in the legs and glutes. You are now using your back more than you were so possible that the errectors were undertrained, we've brought up one muscle group sort of at the expense of another, which means this:

For your body type all your work sets from the floor & do a couple of drop sets of deficit to maintain the brought up weakness.

At least we've worked it out early and not a critical stage.

I've figured out why deficits were a no mover today as well. My hip position was wrong which screwed up the starting leverage.

I was thinking "Squat it up", like I would for a snatch. This is a rubbish cue for engaging the glutes and ham string because instinct is to push the hips down and back like a low bar squat, rather than pulling into the bar while pushing through the legs.

Once my off the floor line was found, the right muscle groups were kicking in so the acceleration was better and kicked in pretty much once the bar budged. I think tension, tight core and posture are going to be the keys to fixing speed off the floor.

Left glute was killing me after squat. It seems to be an isolated issue, but physio tomorrow so I can make sure it's nothing to be worried about.

Also got to crush Dannybols hands on board presses, he seems to be keeping his feet out of the "kick out of the way" range at the moment.
