Yeah, fair enough. Got to concentrate on one or the other really, and you're going great guns with the powerlifting.

I look at it this way, one day I'll be strong enough to rip people in half like phone books. That's got carry over to judo and bjj.

Second at the GB Equipped with 165/90/167.5/422.5.

My heart wasn't in it at the weekend as I'd had a bit of a bad training week and knew I was still screwed from Plzen. I made sure I totalled and acceptable total though, then looked back at the results and started kciking myself for not approaching this with a better attitude.

I could have pulled it together and nipped in a first if I hadn't already decided I'd lost on Tuesday last week.

However, all lifts felt fine and I'm going into training for the Euros much happier.

From the west midland FB page:

"The only thing that separated the two 'Mini Beasts' at the weekend was this incredible double body weight Bench!"

Better get my act together and work on that line in the new shirt.

Monday:

Squat Warm Up: 20x2x5, 60x5, 80x5
Suit Bottoms: 100x3, 120x3, 130x3, 137.5x3 142.5x3 - still a bit above parellel but as it's only suit bottoms I didn't want to keep bumping the weight up on an already worked core
Squat: 80x5, 90x5, 95x2x5 - some drop sets
Bench (1st rep paused): 20x2x5, 40x5, 60x3, 70x3, 72.5x3, 75x3, 65x3x5
Snatch Key position Drill: 10x3x10, 15x3x8 - my position is so far off after not really training this that I figured, best keep weight off till next week
DB Row: 17.5x5x10 - probably want to start bumping back up to 25kg
OH Lunge: 10x5x10 - bumping this back up to 15kg again

I've got 4 weeks to get straps up and depth in the new suit, it's the same size as the old one so it doesn't need much work and I don't want it too slack. The signature wraps can get to Falkirk, I'm sticking with the bouncy titaniums.

Quality session Louise. Looking forward to seeing that squat progression over the next while. Big numbers!

Yeah, equipped squat and deadlift are actually falling into place nicely but the change in bench shirt is being a pain in the arse. I'm so glad my raw bench is good enough to swing a decent opener in a half on shirt.

Tuesday:
Paused Deadlift: 60x5, 80x5, 87.5x3x5

Sumo Deadlift: 60x5, 80x5, 100x2x5
Clean & Jerk: 15x10, 35x3, 42.5x3, 47.5x3x3 - I'm having to relearn my line on oly stuff as nothing seems to be sitting right at the moment.
Bench Warm Up: 20x10, 40x5, 60x3
Shirted Nonsense: 80x3, 95x3, 102.5x1, 100xF - so I'm getting down in an unjacked shirt but still coming offline and not getting the right set up, backside off bench and lack of dat arch
Assistance: inverted rows, push ups, pull ups and plank

I really want to see some oly gains this year but I've got a lack of time for training the movements while I'm lifting equipped. I'm contemplating possibly hitting the GB gym at lunch (provided they have a women's bar) or starting to drive to work so I can hit the uni gym at 7 and then proper trainign afterwards at GS.

When it comes to bench shirts I imagine it'd be tricky for you. Your bench is near enough a lockout so you'd have to get a shirt that pulled your arms together at the top like a motherf**ker.

It's actually getting the arch in the first place. Every shirt I'd had I've had to collapse my arch to be able to get set on the bench, and I can't arch at all when the shirt is held down by the belt.

When I've benched 110kg in the F6 I let the shirt slide up enough so I could get my normal arch.

Wednesday:

A great day of grappling. Started with trangles (san gaku jime) at bjj at lunch. Yay, my second favoruite.

Then got taken aside at judo while every one was drilling tomoe nage to work on tomoe nage into juji gatame as a build up to eventually hitting a flying arm bar. Then during open practice is was the tomoe nage to juji version with the new guys, flying arm bar with the other dan grades and "old rules" with the coaches.

I should be able to work both in competition but have to watch that I only pull the arm lock on once people hit the floor, unless it's bjj then have at it.

The above clip is safe for sugden.

First time I ever tried to flying arm bar was in a comp in Birmingham in the 4th minute against the Hungarian champ at my belt and weight class.

I missed it haha.

Also... My proven flying arm bar defence is called the Godders defence. Holding the person up in the air, putting them in a cupboard and closing the door.

This is how the wifey defends anything I try and do while he pretends to play fight. I've been practicing climbing back up for the choke to try and avoid slams. He wouldn't slam me but I know a lot of other people would.

And he starts it do it's his fault if he gets hurt.
