Really? I would have thought that NHS GP's would have taken a pretty dim view on PED use and be reluctant to encourage / help users.

Most elite athletes will have access to a GP...they wont be NHS though I doubt

If that is the case, then it is disgusting.

If someone smokes themselves to cancer, a doctor doesn't turn him away and said you got yourself into this mess, f**k you.

If you take gear, run into complications and require medical assistance, you should be just as entitled as above smoker to treatment.

Just the other day my GP asked if I take gear, and offered me blood work, advice, any support I needed

If you have a BMI over 30 then they are reluncant to give treatment for some operations I believe?

But yeah, I agree with your point

I agree with you Tom, it would be a complete double standard.

I have heard of a few scenarios, one where someone asked the doc if they would do regular bloods for him as he was going to be using peds, and the doc said he understood and he would like to help, put it breached their ethics practice

and another who had a doc ask if they used peds and despite them not aking anything, offered to do bloods etc if they ever started to.

Seems to be a bit of a postcode lottery.

30 isn't even a high BMI, mine is 30 and I'm f**king skinny!

Yet my doctor still wants me to lose weight.

Bulls**t

Whether you're too fat for an operation or not ia based on your peri-operative risk and how likely you are to run in to a complication during the operation, not cause youre not allowed it due to obesity

Mark had this same problem, and it was one of a few reasons given to me as to why I wouldn't be allowed a scan on the NHS. Ludicrous.

This is another thing that varies from doc to doc it seems. Mine is quite happy with my weight (well, accepting at least) and does not try to encourage me to lose weight (only my family do this Roll-Eyes )
