tz1127 said:great benching. what was the biggest bench of the day? James Jefferies was attempting 280kg and Dean Bowring was going for 322.5kg. Successful attempts? Tony Cliff around 260kg? Maybe someone did more?

Cheers Ed Should also have said huge thanks to Marc Giles for putting me up for the night, to say January has been a tough mnth is a understatement and I'm sure I wouldn't have done nearly as well if I'd have had to drive over in the morn. THANK YOU MARC x

Quick update, James Jefferies 93kg champion 222.5kg, just missing 280kg!!! Martin Flett aka Mr consistent, M2 105kg champ with 192.5 again just missing the standard of 202.5kg. I think Pinda got his opener of 237.5kg Ricks on 195kg and going up, make that 200kg and going up.

Post Edited: 29.01.2011 @ 10:08 AM by moz I'm the same but do SLDL touch and go. If you don't dead stop don't you utilise a thing called pause reflex? Something like that? Basically your second rep could be easier than your 1st?Edit: stretch reflex?

tz1127 said: Maybe what you think is optimal technique isn't that optimal for your leverages. Many people make the deadlift more difficult then it should be, trying to clean pull rather then deadlift. Guilty!

MrSmall said: I think a deadlift is a harder movement to do with optimal technique than a squat is. Expand my Turkish friend. I find squats more technically difficult, pushing knees out, chest up, sitting back etc.. a lot to think about. Deads I just tend to pick 'em up. Maybe I would deadlift more if I 'thought about it?' That's not to say I don't do things like mental run through and set up the same each time, but once I start to pull it takes less mental effort! Does that makes sense?

Thing said:how would you set out your squatting plan so that you don't cause burn out I've been squatting and deadlifting loads lately Neil, this is the thing you do burn out but you just keep doing it! You lift when shattered and every thing hurts and your body adapts. Few days rest and your ready for big squats
