Whey protein for me and truck loads of chocolate. Amazing how many cals all that cardio burns off so I eat really well (no bread, pasta, potatoes) so I can then shovel in loads of chocolate. Oh and coffee!

Wow didnt know this was an actually way of training! I've been doing something very similar with floor presses for my Benchpress inspired by Tom Martins deadlift. I remember Tom pulling heavy from 18 inch and getting progressively lower? That right Tom? Thought I'd give it a bash on floor press, to early to say the results but well know in another 4 weeks or so

Carl said: i am, but i prefer cg pin press/ boards, my thinking is, if i want to lockout 185+ i need to be locking out 185+ from a board or pins rather than doing cg with ~140 what other bench assistance do you do? Top secret ATM! Lol.

Carl said:seated barbell shoulder press, infront and behind neck seated DB shoulder press just press press press Horses for courses, I personally feel OH pressing hampers my bench. Actually I don't do any 'shoulder' work at all. Ive just started doing front raises to see if it helps make my front delts stronger for bench but if it doesn't it will get dropped like a hot brick. Should know in 8 weeks or so.

Post Edited: 16.02.2011 @ 12:11 PM by moz I can only agree with some of those posts. I personally like high volume when no where near a comp and taper it down towards 5s, 3s, 1s, getting closer to comp and dropping pretty much all assistance apart from (and again someone else said) weighted dips because there the f**king Daddy Oh loads of heavy upper back work won't go a miss, something I'm missing ATM because of a bicep injury |
