I thought it may have been the return of Col_Austin aka The Wayne Cowdrey Nemesis. Eek

He's not as funny as he used to be. Unhappy

Although, apparently, he was completely different in real-life and really helpful/knowledgeable to other lifters. Confused

The argument could be that it's the parents who are punishing their kids by bringing them into a world ill-equipped to financially deal with the number of kids, limiting their options for the future and leading them to further poverty in their lifetimes.

This is the internet - there is no place here for well reasoned, thought out ideas.

Did you continue to watch? They then went on to say there was no research to backup the benefits of barefoot running shoes either.

I was talking about running barefoot - which they were espousing - not barefoot-style running shoes.

What really irks me about these programmes is how people having been getting faster running for the last 50 years, despite apparently doing everything wrong; drinking gatorade, running in shoes, having the occasional protein shake - hence the Usain Bolts/Patrick Makau/Paula Radcliffes of this world doing so "poorly". Just watching the shoes part - I f**king knew they would advocate barefoot running, which is wonderful, especially if you are running on concrete or tarmac!! Angry

Running barefoot is lovely on grass, but man was not designed to land on concrete, tarmac (not to mention broken bottles, dog eggs, etc.) or metal roads.

It's fine running on a treadmill, but they haven't done reserach any on road/pavement suraces.

I never would of guessed what it was until now - I just figuredit was a trapped nerve or similar. I think people thought I was going mad when I said I felt a painful electric shock when rotating my hand.
