Tiptoeing the fine line between success and catastrophic disaster.

Lifting is definitely more exciting as we get older!

Nice Farmers.

Really nice.

Ray Williams squat is down 100lbs.

I think the IPF might be taking testing a bit more seriously now.

Test, Tren, Mast up until event day. Check Drops on the day for all time PR.

(You're welcome)

This is also a good idea.

Make sure you are carbed up to the nines.

Do you have someone going with you to the meet?

Wayne was at the competition I was at, and was able to choose a sensible and successful pr attempt.

This was after about 2 hours of warming up and cooling down, as the organisers failed to use a rising bar format.

Film it.

Promise you will post it, regardless of the result.

Use the threat of humiliation as motivation to succeed.

Pull twice a week.

Heavy(ish) Pull on day one. Paused SSB Squats/Paused SSB Box Squats as assistance exercise after.

Other day, do pulls against bands/chains. Not too light, not back breakingly heavy.

Warm Up

Paused SSB Box Squats, with bands attached to the rear of the rack:

30kg x 2
50kg x 2
70kg x 2
90kg x 2
110kg x 2 x 8 sets

These were really good: and by that, I mean you could really feel them. The bands pulling you forward you really made this hard on the abs and upper back.

Bar x 5
60kg x 3
100kg x 2
140kg x 1
180kg x 1

Deadmill: 2 minutes forwards, 2 minutes back

Thick Handled DB RDLs:

16kg per hand x 10
32kg per hand x 8
50kg per hand x 8
Added Fat Gripz
50kg per hand x 5

The Gripz had a gap of about 15mm between each side: so this was really fat and hard on the grip

10 Count Paused Back Extensions:
10, 10, 7

My money is on Heinla.

Anyone who disagrees, can name a station of their choice.

I am a big fan of Luke Richardson - and he is a rare talent.

But, this sounds like we are getting a bit ahead of ourselves.

He did great in his last competition - and there are some real training/injury stars aligning right now, in terms of who can actually successfully compete over the next 18 months - but he hasn't faced off against the top tier of SHW strongman yet: Licis, Thor (who is back training as of a couple of days ago) Kieslowski, Carron, Shyvlakov, Heinla, et al.

Also, 400kg (which I am sure he can do, right now) to 501kg is only a 25% jump!!!

How would Eddie get 1200?
Whats his best pull without straps?

Eddie doing 450/300/450 without straps is very doubtful.

Warm up
Got jumpers knee, so did some warm up in that area.

Deadlifts stood on a purple band - so, I don't know, 50-60kg at the top?

60kg x 3
80kg x 2
100kg x 2
120kg x 1
140kg x 1
160kg x 1
180kg x 1

Lat Pulldowns: 6 x 3 sets

Reverse Flyes: 15 x 3 sets

Chest Pulls: 16 x 3 sets

I have two very dusty pairs of Olympic shoes.

I do miss the clippity clop of walking around in them. And the air of superiority that temporarily being about 6'9" brings.

My knees, alas, do not miss them.

Massive health benefits is quite the statement.

The truth is, unless you are on keto - or El Vertical - chances are, much of what you eat is plant based.

Bread, rice, pasta, potatoes. None of these things ever walked the earth.

Vegetables. They're good for you.

There, I said it.

People should grow more of their own.

My meat intake is way down, due to "her indoors" being indoctrinated since birth to actually fear meat.

I'm still a sucker for a good burger.

Me, I can't usually get them 'cause my girlfriend's a vegetarian, which pretty much makes me a vegetarian. I do love the taste of a good burger.
