obviously you'd use less weight on a paused bench (competition), but how much? Is there a rough percentage or does it differ for everyone? Of course to test this I could just go and do some paused reps, but its more for estimation than anything. How much harder is a properly paused press to do?

The more you train paused bench the less you loose off it. Moral of the story train the way you play as I am slowly learning.

Source my best tng with 190 = 2 my best paused is now 3 after doing 10 weeks of paused training.

I have enjoyed:
127.5kg x 1 touch and go
120kg x 1 paused

Mine's about 7.5kg weaker but someone I train with can actually press more with a pause (his best is 155). Seems pretty variable.

All my heavy presses are paused but that's habit through competing...

With bench now I pause every first & last rep to get the pause in every session Happy

Actually struggle with TnG as it's not something I'm used to; more so when going for a PB!

I'm about the same paused or T&G as I'm very strong off the chest but my lockout is weak

Dunno, I expect about 5kg difference for me, but I haven't exactly pushed either of them in a long time so f**k knows...

At the moment, I like to work up to a top single or set paused, then back off and do a bit of volume touch and go.

I think when I have to reset I will just take 7.5kg more off and start doing some paused reps. Probably first set paused

At the moment in my volume sets I'm pausing on the last rep only. It seems to be working very well and I think I'll definitely be using a combination of the two from now on (previously only did paused in the week leading up to a comp!).
