I can only vaguely remember him as I was young but the guy had a great physique and looks fast as fook! Wasn't he an oly lifter originally?

Gary Taylor was a brilliant all round strength athlete.

Lifted in the 84 Olympics, finished second in the snatch but unfortunately bombed in the jerk.

1993 WSM

I think he also won at European level in powerlifting.

And he won an international bodybuilding competition (Sandow Classic I think).

I remember being on a British Squad weekend at Bisham Abbey when he turned up and casually powersnatched 140 in his pumps with no warm up.

He always looked the part as well.

Total strength sport boss! He looked the bollox two, shame he wasn't in his prime when Pudz was the pin up boy for strongman as Gary would have been all over him.
