Tuesday 8th January 2013

Deadlifts -

70kg x 15
120kg x 10
160kg x 3
200kg x 1
180kg x 3
160kg x 5

Wanted a 220kg single but got shooting pain down the base of my spine on the 200kg so left it there. I am contemplating not deadlifting for awhile till my back gets better or I at least find out the problem.

Squats -

70kg x 10
90kg x 5
110kg x 3
150kg x 1
190kg x f
Belt on
190kg x 1 Belt only PB Grin
170kg x 3 Raw reps PB Grin
150kg x 5 Pretty sure it's a reps PB but not 100%

Happy with the way squats are going. Back twinged on the first 190kg attempt and I bottled it!

Pendlay Rows -

70kg x 15
110kg x 8
130kg x 2 PB Grin
120kg x 5

Close Grip Lat Pulldown -

50kg x 20
70kg x 10
90kg x 10

Back is shot after that! Lower back is just getting worse so deadlifts will be off the agenda for the foreseeable future but doesn't give too much jip squatting so will really hammer my squats of all varieties and get them up until I can get my back sorted.

Thanks mate loving squatting! Think I need to swallow my pride, stop deadlifting for awhile then scale right back.

Wow just realised that was another squat pb. Well done mate.

Is it the weight that bothers you with the deads? If so why not keep them on the light side but do lots of low rep sets. Just don't do anything that irritates the problem.

Cheers buddy this is the first time I've actually squatted regularly so that might have something to do with it Tongue

Sometimes both and sometimes it's alright which throws me! Think it's a mixture of the extra timber throwing my technique off, really too much on hitching before and not pulling clean, poor technique in general and lack of flexibility in my hips, hamstrings and basically my whole lower body! I'm scaling right back and trying to build back up with better technique and really concentrating on pulling clean.
